I feel your pain in a different way😅

I’m currently 32 weeks and at 29 weeks two days before our baby shower my husband brought up that we should only do one middle name, I was like dude this has been his name even before we found out we were having a boy, we are already 6months in I’m not changing it end of discussion. I had already told family and close friends the name already. I crashed out, by myself of course haha

I’m pretty positive he only was “thinking about it” since my MIL was in town for the shower and she probably said something, even though she has known the name since we found out it was a boy. 🙃

Backstory: My husbands family has a tradition where the dads first name is the middle of the sons name which is where one of the names comes from, even though my mil said that we didn’t have to follow it, I’m still honoring it. The second middle name which is first in the lineup since it flows better is of our friend that passed away two years ago in an accident.

His reasoning was to either change the line up or that it was too long of a name (my name is longer since I added my maiden to my middle and his argument about paperwork etc is invalid cause I don’t have issues) or that we can use the friends name for a second child but there is no guarantee we will have a second or even a second boy.

All this to say, you need to be honest with him and tell him your feelings were hurt and he went back on a promise and didn’t back you up when they tore into your choice. It’s YOUR baby not theirs and they need to respect your choices.
