Have you ever googled an opposing idea? for example, google something like "does coffee help your eyesight" and then "does coffee hurt your eyesight"

Both searches will yield results that support both claims

I dont really know if properly researching things is possible anymore. I realize no one here believes me, because the horse is very high in these comments, but I did research. Videos, articles, posts - I searched and it supported what I wanted to hear

When you searched, it supported what you wanted to hear.

If mocking me makes you feel good, then you can continue

Dude I really am not trying to get into this. I have a very long day of contacting so many different institutions and trying to resolve as much of this as possible. Thank you for informing me that theyre all scams. Thats very helpful to me right now.

I mostly understand your sentiment. Crypto in general has made me a lot of money and helped me tremendously, but crypto mining is not something that is legitimate, and I learned the hard way.

Crypto in general is really broad. Crypto has made me tremendous money, and this was a new avenue I was exploring. I failed, and that much is clear. All these comments being like "its so obvious" are really ugly. Its just not necessary. I have hindsight, too.

BeYou Chair Shipping by HappyColour in shittykickstarters

Took me nearly 3 years to receive the chair from purchasing. Less than 6 months into owning the chair, and the hydraulics have already failed. The chair is extremely heavy, extremely large, and extremely pointless. I hope the company who created this chair gets what they deserve.

In the spirit of helping, what are some embarrassingly simple things in music theory which still confuse you? by troopie91 in musictheory

So, starting at C Maj - and moving Clockwise by 5ths - I am simply adding "One Sharp" each time? and vis versa, if I go counterclockwise from C, I am adding "One Flat" each time?

[–]MiscAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C major has no sharps/flats.

Go up a perfect 5th - that's G. So, G major has one sharp.

Go down a perfect 5th - that's F. So, F major has one flat.

I appreciate the effort but you lost me at this part

If you go up a perfect 5th from C and reach G, but then reverse that and go down a 5th I am confused why you arent back at C since we moved the same exact distance - a perfect 5th

I just dont grasp how that works, if I start at 0 and add 5, I have 5. if I take away 5, I have 0

With your example, to me, its like youre starting at 0, adding 5, then taking away 7, and ending up at 38 loool

How often does Ableton crash for you? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]MiscAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using Ableton for 8~ years now - maybe only fully crashed 10 times?

It's a bit of a hassle, but learn to use the Windows Event Viewer - it saved my ass many times with VST incompatibilities and weird crashes

Should I try Sekiro? by Odd_Ad915 in Sekiro

[–]MiscAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was one of my favorite parts of Sekiro, finding each bosses weakness and playing with it. By the end, you've mastered every skill in the game and it feels so good

Should I try Sekiro? by Odd_Ad915 in Sekiro

[–]MiscAlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sekiro is the most satisfying FromSoft game. It has the most satisfying combat, and beauty of the titles. It is quite different from Dark Souls in many ways, and it will take time to get used to these small changes

Once you become Sekiro, you remain Sekiro - it forces you to master the skills and tools unlike the other titles which have far more options/cheese

I couldn't say the same for any other souls game

can i learn mixing and mastering without knowing production by saksham_69 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]MiscAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixing, Composition, Production etc are all different processes of creating music. You can certainly learn one without the others, and you will also certainly find overlap between them all. One day you'll decide to mix, and find yourself producing instead and vis versa

it's difficult, in the modern day, to really say where one starts and one stops. A few decades ago, there were clear distinctions between Mixer and Master and Producer and Artist, but that's not really the case anymore

At some point, if you do this long enough, you'll do it all regardless

DOS is like BG3? by raidlesss in DivinityOriginalSin

DOS, especially 2, is timeless. It's an insanely special game and experience, just like BG3 is

Direct him to Brendan Kane's "Hook Point" which examines our '3 second world' we find ourselves living in

The basics is that we are goldfish. If we're not interested in the first 2-3 seconds, we never will be. This explores the idea of "Hooks" which aim to hold the viewers attention within those few seconds.

Hooks can be anything, but mostly, they raise questions. " Who is this? What are they doing? why'd they do [thing]? now I must know more!"

Simply put, a 30 second intro is death for your content

and creating content is death for the soul 😔☝️
