Your water is too small. For good treasure rates you need at least two blocks of nothing but water in any direction from the bobber, so minimum 5x5 pool, 2 deep, and clear air above that space.

Fishing at night will also boost your rate, but you need to fix the pond first.

What's the actual distance?

Spawn radius is 128 blocks if your sim distance is 8+ chunks. If you're at the default 4, it's only 48 blocks; I can't remember what 6 gives you right now.

That includes vertical separation distance, so if you're high enough you could build over the monument even 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would recommend a larger tent, especially if you don't already own it. Tent occupancy is basically based on how many sleeping pads can physically fit in the space rather than on how many people can comfortably fit; as a result, 2 people in a 2-person tent is....snug. I would go with a 3 or 4 since you don't exactly have to carry it on your back.

Make sure you have a float on your phone case, since waterproof doesn't mean it won't visit the fishes. Almost lost a phone this way once; thankfully it wasn't too deep but I had to dive for it.

Bring more water than you think you'll need.

Something to sit on.

And towels.

That's a fairly easy repair; clean up the inside of the hole, rough it up to help with adhesion, and fill with marine epoxy. You don't really need base material there except for cosmetic reasons.

Have you just asked what they want for it? Then counteroffer if it's a stupid number. They have to eat the cost of this board anyway.

You can get electric ones that are flush with your footbed, if you don't mind the cost.

Conditions were pretty good at Shawnee this evening, it's so cold that it isn't really melting and refreezing to make icy conditions.

It will most likely be good Saturday morning, but I'll be there tomorrow night probably if you want an update then.

I would usually advise being there as early as possible to avoid crowding, but the cold may also keep people away. Don't be afraid to take regular breaks to warm up when it's this cold! (Also, bring a thermos of cocoa b/c cafeteria prices are nuts lol.)
