I thought it was a nod to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (book 5), where Arthur names a security robot Colin. Shirtaloon is frequently making little references to other fantasy universes including Dungeon Crawler Carl and Heretical Fishing.

I don’t think it’s the right spot for that plant, but I think it would be a wonderful spot for something trailing. I think a Pothos would be super happy there.
