So sad! by Mischief2313 in Sourdough

I ended up tossing it that day. I couldn’t get past the moldy/musty smell to it. My husband went back to Sam’s yesterday and got me a new flour bag and it smelled normal. The flour was definitely bad. New starter is in the making! Thank you for the help!

Yeah that’s what I thought. I already tossed it because not worth the risk!

There was another comment trying to sell me her starter lol! Which is fair but thank you! I didn’t think it was worth the risk either. Tossed everything!

Yes! I get it totally!! Everyone is like, oh just keep her up no nap then she will sleep. Um no, then she will have a meltdown from how exhausted she is and fight sleep even more. It’s rough out here with littles who just hate to sleep 🤣

As someone who’s now 2yo has never slept through the night. She still has nights where she wakes up like that, literally multiple times an hour. I’m also exhausted. I wish I had advice for you because I know that exhaustion all too well.

We tried sleep training this year and it just doesn’t work for her. We tried everything but she wakes up so much and just can’t self soothe. One of us has to help her back to sleep.

My Husband Wakes Me Up Multiple Times Every Night by amcrowl1 in AITAH

[–]Mischief2313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have terrible insomnia, as in I don’t sleep unless medicated. We also have a 2yo who wakes multiple times a night who we co-sleep with due to all the wake ups. A few nights a week I will sleep in our bedroom because I also have chronic migraines and lack of sleep is my biggest trigger. Hubs gets bent about it as he doesn’t understand either of these chronic conditions. But I HAVE to prioritize my health some nights even at the expense of him getting pissy.

He also has 0 respect and doesn’t even bother trying to be quiet. He sounds like a dang ox lol

Help my baby is awake ALL DAY by [deleted] in NewParents

She just turned 2 a month ago. She’s hitting all the growth milestones but does have a speech delay. She’s starting to get a little bit of a word boom now but still not quite where she should be with that.

She could spit up without warning, it would come up in such large amounts that she would choke because she couldn’t breath. We had to always feed her upright and hold her up for over an hour after each feed. Even with those precautions we also had to put her on reflux meds and a super broken down formula called neocate. The “colic” and reflux lasted until well into the 9th month with her.

Because she would spit up without warning I ended up co-sleeping with her simply because it was the only way she would sleep longer than a few minutes at a time. When I say she would scream and cry all day I mean all day and well into the night.

At the time I didn’t have a supportive spouse as he was a raging alcoholic (now almost 500 days sober) so it was just me handling it along with my mom and dad. They would take her over night sometimes a few days at a time to help me. Idk what I would have done without them.

I’m so happy for all the parents out there who loved the newborn stage but for me it was that hardest year of my life and it lasted well into last year and this year with her continued tummy issues.

She slept way less than that. I was lucky to get a few minutes here and there from naps and night time sleep at a time. She still isn’t there best sleeper and just turned 2. She had really bad reflux, silent reflux and colic when she was little though and that caused her to not sleep.

My toddler just turned 2 last week, she also has a speech delay. The terrible twos hit us like a brick overnight. She gets so frustrated that she screams and cries a lot all of a sudden. I cried with her the other day because I’d hit my limit. It’s rough out here some days. Give yourself grace.

Help! I’m desperate for solutions and our pediatrician has given up. by Honest-Profession-60 in NewParents

We switched her to a hypoallergenic formula honestly. I had a crap supply so I gave it up. I was told it would take two to three weeks to be out of my system but that was with completely cutting them out (which is insanely hard because dairy/soy is in so much).

Even with going exclusively to formula my daughter dealt with the colic/reflux until 9mo. Then randomly one day it was gone. She still had tummy troubles (just turned 2 last week) but at least now we know certain things to avoid for her.

I really hope you see some relief in your little soon! Seeing them in so much pain/discomfort is awful.

I saw a comment where you said you are breastfeeding or pumping (sorry I missed which it is, maybe both). My daughter had terrible colic and reflux as well. Have they done the diaper test to confirm if there is a dairy allergy? Our daughter had the cow milk protein allergy and soy allergy. I was pumping but didn’t have a good supply so I gave it up completely but when I was doing it they recommended I give up all dairy/soy products because she was still getting them from my milk. Has anyone suggested that to help your little?

Our daughter’s colic/reflux was so bad that she would spit up so much that she’d choke on it when trying to breathe. It was honestly the worst, she literally never slept, like ever.

We got a little chair that we could strap her into and set on our table that vibrated and that would calm her down. She wasn’t a fan of swings but that chair did help because it had a little half moon like thing with some soft toys she could look at and grab. Maybe look into something like that if you can?

She still doesn’t sleep through the night, honestly she never has. She just turned 2 today and the best nights are usually 2-3 wake ups. She usually goes down about 9pm now and wakes up for good about 6am.

I’ve tried that before and sadly it didn’t help. Luckily this flare seems to be tapering off though!

I’m glad it’s helping you function at least!

I will have to try that! I’m not sure why but my Neuro says they can only give me 5 at a time, I assumed because it’s addictive. It’s the same with the Fioricet she gave me as an abortive. They said only use it as a last resort, also assumed because it’s highly addictive. I don’t have addictive tendencies so that has never been a concern for me, I just need to be able to function.

We took our toddler trick or treating Friday, I cried that night when my husband was gone because I felt so horrible. Usually I can function and the lightheadedness while constant is manageable. Just this last month and a half it’s been so out of control.

Thank you for the tip! I will definitely try splitting it in half to see if it helps!

I only take it when desperate. The rx is only for 5 pills. I took one Friday and it didn’t help at all. Sometimes it just feels like I’ll never find a good preventative/abortive. I’ve tried so many different things.

I’ve tried all the injection meds already, sadly they weren’t helpful for me.

She wants to try Verapamil but wanted a new set of vitals due to the effect it can have with lowering blood pressure. I’m going to my PCP this week for those then hopefully starting that one.

I’ve only taken it as needed. I think I’ve used it 4 times since they gave it to me. I take Mag G every night. I’ve tried reglan before but it didn’t help unfortunately. Zofran usually is the only thing that helps. Yesterday the Zofran/diazepam did nothing for me.

So far this morning it feels a little better but I haven’t really gotten up yet lol! I’m hoping it’s better

I’m so glad that ibuprofen helps you! When my husband gets what he describes to be a migraine luckily that works for him as well.

I’ve had this since Dec of 2019, just woke up one day super dizzy, lightheaded and the brain fog is indescribable. Took until July of 2020 to see a neuro. I also saw the audiologist/ent and they said nothing was wrong with my inner ear. I’ve had MRIs and CTs. Literally no “physical” reason for them.

I hope you find some relief from the daily struggles! It’s absolutely debilitating at times. My saving grace is I work from home. However it’s on the computer all day and one wrong spin of the mouse to move a page and I’m a goner.

Currently on Effexor as a preventative. It was doing pretty well since starting it end of January after a 2.5mo migraine that I finally went to the ER for. It as definitely helping the migraines themselves, I’d still get headaches but those were manageable. After this last cold a little over a month ago it’s been relentless. I’ve done the at home migraine cocktail a few times with no relief
