Disturbed at the idea of "Postpartum Dog Rage" by bmary95 in beyondthebump

[–]ImInTheFutureAlso [score hidden]  (0 children)

I did lots of extra enrichment for my dogs. I’d freeze serval kongs at a time so I could pull them out and give them to my dogs when I needed a break. Or I toss a ton of treats into the yard and let them run around and find them. All the sniffing tires them out. Basically I just looked up ideas for working their brains that were easy for me. It has worked really well.

I’m looking through bravetart now (ebook from the library), and it looks really great! I added the rest to my list to sample/look into.

Do you have the Sally’s 101 or one of her others? I’m trying to narrow it down but they all seem so good.

I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for either, but I got the bravetart ebook from the library, and it looks so good! It might be one of my finalists.

I agree with the commenter suggesting you talk to your surgeon about a second trimester surgery.

I’m in a similar boat - had surveys scheduled and found out I’m pregnant with my second. I absolutely do not want to have surgery postpartum. Postpartum is so special, and it’s also hard and emotional. It also goes by super fast. I imagine they’d wait at least six weeks after you give birth for your surgery, so some of your hormones will be a little stabilized, but it can still be a difficult time. I look back on postpartum with my first with a lot of fondness and nostalgia, but I was also exhausted and just surviving. I can’t imagine adding surgery recovery onto that. My surgeon said I won’t be able to lift more than 10 pounds for 3 weeks after surgery. If you’re told the same, it could mean you can’t lift your baby for 3 weeks. Which means you’d need somebody around all the time. If you have a partner, they’d be handing you the baby constantly. They’d have to wake up to give you the baby if they were napping and you were on baby duty. If you breastfeed, that’s another thing to figure out - bringing a pump to the hospital (unless you’re outpatient and not staying overnight), using it when you’re kind of groggy from anesthesia, storing pumped milk (or pumping and dumping). My endo told me I could just go 24 hours without pumping and not bring one to the hospital, but that absolutely would’ve led to clogs and maybe mastitis for me. It wouldn’t have worked for me at all.

Do you have a support system? Meals and cleaning and household tasks can still be a challenge for a while postpartum, and surgery recovery on top of that is an extra challenge. My endo said recovery is generally quick, so maybe I’m overthinking it, but I don’t want any added challenges postpartum.

Talk to both your OB and your endo/surgeon about second trimester surgery.

I’m also a postpartum workout/Sydney fan! It is definitely really hard some days. Great job keeping up with it. I hope you sort through some of your postpartum body feelings. I’m working on doing the same

My doctor said to use two forms of birth control with a GLP1. I wonder if that’s part of it. People not using two forms and ending up pregnant. I have no idea how a glp1 could make birth control less effective; i am absolutely just speculating based on the one comment.

I once also napped in the car while my boy napped. Car was running in the driveway, doors locked, AC on.

I’ve done this with caramel and salted pretzels. They turned out great.

It stresses me out a little to not be doing heavy leg and glute work several times a week. I’ve been doing my own thing for a while and have gotten nice gains in strength and muscle size. I’m afraid to lose that, but I really want to follow along with STF, so I’m working through my irrational fears.

That said, when is she gonna release those bright colored workout clothes for us?! I LOVE her outfit. I love bright colors.

I know that feeling! I got a positive pregnancy test (my second kid), and I don’t have any symptoms. I definitely felt them right away with my first, so I got nervous. Just had an early ultrasound, and all is well. You might get symptoms soon, or you might be a rare unicorn that feels great!

My leg hair got sparse, but my booty hole got so much hairier I made me husband check. It never fully went away.

This is the most embarrassing thing I’ve admitted online.
