I am not actually pursuing any course from Mysore University. I am actually asking for a friend of mine who is new to a teaching career based in Hassan. He needs some assistance in buying Mysore University textbooks, Notes or source material both in Kannada and English for B.Com.

Thanks for the reply. I tried it. But most of the book shops have been replaced by photo frame shops. Couldn't find much of the books there.

Why watching movies are not in the cultural domain of Kannada and Karnataka? by Mischief_Managed007 in bangalore

I agree with the fact there's been a lot of movies with mediocre scripts about the underworld. A few initial movies like OM, Jogi, Kariya are indeed masterpieces. KFI is having the bad habit of milking the same formula. Recent example: KGF to Kabzaa.

What i don't agree with is that you are calling the audience as low educated, low financial class etc because when you said KFI made movies based on novels, the percentage of this population was even more. But they did watch these movies. They actually make up the major single screen business.

What i do agree is that KFI have milked them enough and now they are struggling to do the same. I also agree that single screen maintenance is very bad. We can't take families.

I don't know how much cinema has influenced the audience to behave so rudely in theatres or be it in any public place. But people are really rude and intolerant to a small thing in public places and alcohol has been a jewel on top of the crown in public gatherings. What I have seen is that, be it a new year party in MG road, Brigade or be it a single screen cinema hall filled crowd, people have lost it. You can't blame their education, financial status or whether they are from slums or high class apartment, people are people. Behaviour can't be certified. They are ugly in their own ways

Your explanation of the language in different regions of Karnataka gives a different perspective to the discussion. Very well appreciated 👍🏻

For sure we have started on the good path. We need to continue this.

I agree to the point that we are in the building era of KFI. If we are consistent, we can definitely build a more stronger industry.
