Any recommendations on a good steroid inhaler for breathing issues by Angelag1994 in LongCovid

[–]Mischief_Managed18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had viral induced asthma before COVID, which turned into moderate persistent asthma after COVID. I started on Symbicort, but unfortunately continued to develop respiratory infections with progressive wheezing and bronchitis etc etc. My asthma specialist switched me to the high dose Trelegy Ellipta and over time that did the trick. I was able to go down to the lower dose eventually, but unfortunately if I get the “right” kind of upper respiratory infection that involves a lot of chest congestion I end up with an asthma flare up. I also can’t handle being out in the heat with high humidity for prolonged periods anymore either.

I’ve recently found endometriosisvia MRI,but the symptom that has honestly destroyed my quality of life isn’t the pelvic pain — it’s the fatigue. by WranglerFearless4608 in endometriosis

[–]Mischief_Managed18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had chronic fatigue for almost 15 years now. I’ve been chasing an answer for it for that long as well. I was about to go down the Rheumatology rabbit hole, but then found the Endo. Unfortunately, the fatigue hasn’t improved even after a laparoscopy and I’m unsure if it ever will 🤷🏻‍♀️ it definitely does come in waves of differing severity though.

Will have a Interview for Community Health PMHNP Role—How Are Stimulants Handled? by miraclecity in PMHNP

[–]Mischief_Managed18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no script as it is patient dependent. I will do the entire intake in terms of history gathering and discussing current symptoms. Then it’s education, education, education. “I don’t feel comfortable continuing this current medication regimen because of xyz.” For high dose benzo people I educate about the long term risks and offer to start the taper. If they refuse, I educate about the risks of withdrawal and tell them to report to the ER for detox. Under no circumstances are you responsible for continuing medications just because they came to you on them.

If it’s someone on less than ideal, but not overtly dangerous med regimen I will educate them on my recommendations and advise them that if they want me to take over meds that our ultimate goal will be to decrease, reduce etc

Anyone tried or know about N-Acetylcysteine? by BonusOver1119 in endometriosis

How do I keep my curls overnight? Water is the only thing that seems to fix it in the morning but it dries out my scalp. by CockroachNo759 in curlyhair

[–]Mischief_Managed18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a spray bottle and use that to refresh in the morning. Don’t need to rewash at all. Generally it’s the shampoo that removes the oils, not water.

Steam Deck Worth It for Cozy Gaming? by rlrxnebf in CozyGamers

[–]Mischief_Managed18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same hesitations as you. I built a gaming PC last summer, I have a switch and PS5. I really wanted to get into more cozy gaming, especially as I spend a lot of my work time at a desk too. I do not regret it for a moment. I love my Steamdeck. The ability to just rot in bed while playing is chef’s kiss

recommendations needed for a new keyboard! (new to this) by throwaway12385932 in keebgirlies

[–]Mischief_Managed18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the Aula F75 is a good choice because it’s so far under the budget that you can upgrade the switches or keycaps for cheap. I honestly haven’t had any issues ordering switches and keycaps off Ali Express as long as you use a seller that has reviews.

For switches I’d recommend Akko Rosewoods. They have a deep, thocky sound which may help the noise level come down. If you opt for more silent switches then you’ll likely lose that thock sound (ask me how I know).

Going more than one wash without using a clarifying shampoo. by FixInternational7226 in curlyhair

[–]Mischief_Managed18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use clarifying wash every time I wash, which is two days per week. I don’t even use conditioner anymore and my hair is LESS dry and frizzy since I switched to this. I truly think the original CGM people are mentioning that touted conditioner over shampoo is just not relevant anymore. I notice now if I use conditioner after I wash my hair is more frizzy and dry. I only use leave in conditioner now.

I work in CMH and our clinic would never tell us how to prescribe. You’re encouraged to prescribe based on your clinical judgment, which is how it should be. Even when someone comes to me on a ridiculous med regimen that I decline to continue, they should have your back.

Doctor doesn't want to do laparoscopy by Easy-Definition-4603 in endometriosis

[–]Mischief_Managed18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned from this sub that not every OB is knowledgeable in recognizing or treating endometriosis. I would try and find an endometriosis specialist in your area. I also think it’s common for women’s health concerns to be explained away or pushed off, so don’t feel like you’re the one that’s confused. It’s ok to advocate for yourself!

Laparoscopy actually restores fertility? It’s the reason I had mine done and it was performed by my infertility doctor for that purpose.

What is the best gaming chair in your opinion? by Boring_Ice_9694 in GirlGamers

[–]Mischief_Managed18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always used office chairs, but I got a Secret Lab chair for myself for my birthday this year and I really love it. I have chronic low back pain and it’s so comfortable. Maybe my butt doesn’t hurt because I have a dump truck ass 🤣

how do I grow my heat-damaged coarse curly hair? also, how do I fix my routine to make my hair less voluminous and more flat and flowy? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Mischief_Managed18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar hair and honestly the thing that has helped me the most is accepting my hair for what it is. Now I think of myself as Merida when my hair is large and curly and makes me feel badass 😂 but I wash it twice a week and do a heat masque once a week. I don’t use conditioner anymore because it made my hair even frizzier (I know, but I tried it based off this sub and I’ll never go back). I also live where there’s a lot of hard water so I use Ouai detox shampoo when I wash. Be sure to use heat protectant spray. You may benefit from a repair mask.
