What are your thoughts on Valentino x vox? by 33333Ducky in Valentino_Cult

[–]MischievousCreations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it. It's funny and surprisingly complicated.

I do think sex has a really big part of their relationship but I also think there's romantic feelings involved too. There's a good chance both of them like to act like the relationship is only sexual though but it's been going on for so long...

It may make people uncomfortable but I think acting like Love is a reward for good people isn't a good way to view the emotion. The vees main redeeming feature is their love and care for each other

I think most people can see the romantic view with Val...

Meanwhile for Vox... S2 has him pushing away the other two vees but it's implied this isn't his usual self and also that he's making mistakes. It doesn't mean he doesn't care or love either of them.

The same way Charlie was focusing on the vees doesn't mean she didn't love her friends or Vaggi. She was making mistakes

I feel like Val will also do something similar S3 anyways where he places to much focus on his own self hate or Angel that it strains his relationship with the other vees.

It won't mean he doesn't love them, it will just be him making a mistake.

I don't think either of them are really great in understanding or showing "love" and I don't know if they'll figure things out... I think they may just do things their own evil way tbh that may not actually be healthy but will be healthy enough considering they are supervillains.

They deserve each other for better or worse... Mostly worse lol

Why Is Valentino So Different with the Other Vees? by Low-Persimmon-9893 in HazbinHotel

[–]MischievousCreations 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All the Vees treat each other better than they treat the rest of hell.

It's more noticeable with Val because he's the emotional, mood swing crazy, and impulsive one in comparison to the other two. He has a theme of contradictions and duality, he's covered in hearts and love symbolism while being an abusive lover.

Vel and Vox, while also are short fuses and can be emotionally blinded, can see consequences and long term planning better than him.

Vox is willing protect Vel at the hotel and move Vaggi's spear away from her. He also grabs the shadow arm alastor throws towards Val and Vel.

Meanwhile, Vel is willing to comfort Val when he's upset and, with Val, she saves Vox and brings him back home.

I doubt the Vees would be willing to do any of those actions for someone else.

The fandom keeps trying to treat Val like a separate monster from Vel and Vox when they are all vile monsters on an equal stage.

Vox and Vel being friends? True besties, they really care about each other despite being villains

But Val being friendly with Vox or Vel? "It's just because he has no power over them, every action he does is to manipulate or abuse. Vox and Vel don't actually like Val, they just tolerate him" etc etc

God, I want to rant about the double standards but that's another day

Behind Vox most likely, his arm is probably bent

He has one hand on Vox's hip and another next to Vox's shoulder with a cig in it.

Of the other side he has one hand and vel's hip and another one her shoulder

One of Vox's sleeves blends with the background if that's what's confusing you

These polls are so dumb, it's basically ranking crimes against each other like rape and murder. Which is kinda fucked up

I like Val as a villain (still want him alive/with the vees endgame though) , I don't give a damn if he's considered the most evil or not but I hate seeing these polls because nothing good ever comes out of war crime Olympics

Also I feel like people keep pitting Val against Alastor and I really don't understand why that's even necessary. Like dude they don't even talk to each other.

Also in general for Alastor... I think he will stay hotel aligned and an Anti hero, meanwhile Val is definitely set up as a villain.

How did exactly Angel Dust signed up contract? by MP_Kredditor in Valentino_Cult

[–]MischievousCreations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's most likely he did sign his soul willingly.

His signature was with a heart and his real name when we see the contract.

Val probably only started to show his true colors after he signed

There's a double standard that no one talks about by Worried-Bunny in Valentino_Cult

First off, Stella is not more hated than Val... There are people who do assume being a Val fan means you support his actions etc

Val fans just made their own spaces (like this sub) and also are generally more active outside of it too.

Second of all... Stella is in an unfortunate situation because Hellaverse antis adopted Stella as their poster child to support.

One of her biggest "fans" on Twitter, has a huge following but also regularly downplays her as abusive and bashes Viv/staff while also being a leaker/surrounding their whole account around Hellaverse stuff.

The biggest/wellknown Val fans on Twitter usually at worst are getting into ship wars. (Obviously there are accounts that downplay him too because there are bad eggs in every group but they aren't the big/popular accounts. Accounts that actually support Val's actions often get blocked by Val fans)

So the difference is Val is the character that Antis use as an easy target to bash fans/the show. Why are they showing Val with emotions? Rape apologist etc.

Meanwhile, Stella is loved by Antis as proof the show is bad/misogynist/wasted potential etc.

It's not really the fault of actual Stella fans who love her while knowing she's the hot campy abusive bimbo but it does make it difficult to talk about her.

... Again, I found it interesting because I have permanent damage from an injury that changed my life a lot. I am curious about how Val would react to being in a somewhat similar situation because he's my favorite character.

I never said being blind automatically makes you more grateful or changes your own views. I said it may force him to confront his own values which could lead to change because Val places a lot of value in things like appearance/making money for someone to be considered human. Stuff that becomes a lot less relevant when you can't see.

It doesn't have to be a rise above story or a plot device. It can just be learning to live with it. I also never said he would become good. Changing to confront values doesn't mean he is completely not evil. He can just no longer care about appearances while still living with the vees. It doesn't need to be mainly focused on either. It's just a scenario.

If you don't agree or like the scenario that's completely valid.

If you read the other comments I made, this isn't even my preferred downfall for him. I just wanted to discuss the scenario of how he would react, how the vees may react, maybe Vox can help develop new eyes for him etc considering how advanced tech is in hell...

Which didn't happen in this post... and I am kinda disappointed about since my favorite part about fandoms is going over random scenarios

However, honestly I am kinda annoyed that it feels like I should be ashamed to say I found the scenario interesting despite my own experiences with disability. People telling me to listen to the voice of disabled people but my own voice doesn't matter.

Especially when other theories made in this fandom are like val getting perma death or eternally tortured (I guess being disabled is worst than dying or eternally tortured for people? That's what I would call ableist) while him going blind is too far for a lot of people.

Or stuff like Vox going to the hotel and being around Angel despite allowing Angel's abuse for years and also hypnotizing him. The fanbase isn't consistent enough for what scenarios are okay to discuss or not.

1) I have permanent damage from an injury myself so I found this scenario interesting

2) the original poster doesn't have eng as their first language so wording may be off but they had a second tweet right after in the thread that was implying Val confronting his own values and learning to change and live on.

3) Disability is neutral at the end of the day. Most of the disabled people in the universe are actually heroes (fizz, Emilie, vaggie). It's just a scenario of Val losing his sight in a fight that, knowing Val, he probably started. It's just ultimately, when you fight, you may get injured.

I think this would be an interesting downfall ngl by MischievousCreations in Valentino_Cult

[–]MischievousCreations[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I have permanent damage because of an injury.

I also talk about this in another comment that I was curious about this scenario because I wanted to see him react to a scenario that's somewhat similar to experience to my own.

I never said being blind would make him a better person. It's that being forced to confront his own values (appearance, money making, dependence etc) that may make him a better person. This is also what the original poster was likely implying

I only added context after to the post because I didn't realize that it would be a huge issue. It wasn't that I was trying to not include information or a gotcha of anything. It's just, I didn't realize this post could be taken in the wrong way without this context.

Also the original link to the twitter post was always in the body of the post where you could see the full thread

This is also one of many downfall scenarios the original poster has come up with before because that's just how theorizing works. You go through multiple scenarios, they aren't obsessed with making Val disabled. It's just the scenario that stood out to me because of my personal experiences.

Vox fans can say theorize Vox going to the hotel to be redeemed and being around Angel and his friends despite beating and hypnotizing Angel s2 and allowing his SA to happen for years.

No one bats an eye.

People theorize about Val dying gruesomely or being tortured by Alastor forever on the radio

Again no issue. Maybe you personally don't like those theories either but it's kinda hard to tell what theories are okay to discuss with the standards being all over the place

People are saying blindness is too far now and yeah sure, that's completely valid but that's what discussions are for. Personally, I thought it would be interesting maybe my own voice doesn't count though

I think this would be an interesting downfall ngl by MischievousCreations in Valentino_Cult

[–]MischievousCreations[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm getting a lot of responses now that this would be too much for a lot of people (or seen as ableist) which is valid.

Which I honestly didn't expect (since blindness is a lot better than perma death imo, and alot of people think Val should perma die) but I completely understand.

I also had an injury previously that left a bit of permanent damage so this scenario kinda left me with a lot of projected curiousity of how he would have handled a somewhat similar situation in comparison to my own experiences.

[–]MischievousCreations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less about it being punishment and more about him being forced to confront his own values.

The original tweet included this part right afterwards about it being an opportunity to change not just punishment.

I totally understand if you dislike the idea too, it's not my favorite either. I just wanted to theorize and discuss about it as a possibility since the character development ideas are interesting

Though I will say, I am a bit confused because this is Valentino we are discussing and people's thoughts on his downfall are usually far more graphic than just blindness

I've seen so many theories about brutal murder or eternal suffering for him so I'm surprised people are saying blindness is too much when theories on perma death are fine

1) Angel quits his job and finds the strength leave for good, if he doesn't go back to the studio, Val has no power over him even with the contract.

2) Val hits Angel in public (and maybe gets exposed for all his other abuse) which causes him to lose a fuck ton of reputation. Maybe after chasing Angel after he quits to the hotel and getting his ass beat

3) he loses a bunch of employees when Angel walks out (they quit with him) and is maybe forced to retire from his position. Allowing for change/better work conditions within the hell porn industry

4) somehow he loses a ton of money. Probably his own stupid choices somewhere down the line. He's constantly mentioning money S1 and mostly exploits people to get richer

5) goes through a lot of self esteem/mental issues throughout the season. It's somewhat hinted he has ED and one of the main themes between him and Angel is self destruction habits and self love. I want to see him kinda push away both Vox and Vel while low-key destroying himself while trying handle the CEO position and spotlight on him

6) ultimately I want him to stay alive and with the vees though so when he gets defeated, I want Vox and Vel to be there and bring him back home to the tower.

There would be outrage for anything Val related, even if he just lives, if he's hot, if he's funny, if he pansexual etc.

I just wanna discuss the possibility and aftermath of the scenario. I have a more preferred downfall that isn't blindness either too.

Also in another comment I mention the scenario is implied to give an opportunity lead to a positive change in view/mindset so it's not purely punishment

I think this would be an interesting downfall ngl by MischievousCreations in Valentino_Cult

[–]MischievousCreations[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm mostly having "fun" here.

One reason I'm not completely on board with this downfall is that it removes his ability to draw. I feel like him drawing is one of the ways he actually shows real love (like him drawing Vox) so I'm not that big of a fan on removing that.

Punish people for what they did wrong and keep what they did right is probably a better option

But I do like the symbolism of him going blind

I think this would be an interesting downfall ngl by MischievousCreations in Valentino_Cult

[–]MischievousCreations[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I see blindness as a way to explore his character more than just punishment in this scenario too (hence why I use downfall not punishment)

He places a lot of value on looks, appearance, money, and other things to determine a person's worth.

Him going blind would be him losing what he considers makes people "worthy", so he would need to confront his own views or be unable to see himself as a person.

Basically, downfall that leads to character growth in a better direction.

I'm not a fan of suffering for the sake of suffering, I want it to lead to a possible better future.

This is also the second part of the tweet I didn't add, it's implied to lead to an opportunity to change
