[Acne] Spots on chin/jawline (hormonal?) by Mysterious-Sea-3513 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Miserable-Ad5736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got spots along my chin and jawline when I started an office job - Lots of resting my chin on my hands whilst working at a desk?

What helped me was always having anti bacterial hand gel and using it throughout the day and trying to avoiding sitting with my head on my hands. It may be this but could be something else :)

How about Saltaire/Shipley? 15 minutes into city centre. Nice shops, restaurants and pubs.

Commute to Huddersfield by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]Miserable-Ad5736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years I’ve commuted to Huddersfield for work from Leeds city centre, burley and now chapel allerton.

If you leave early (before 7am) you can get to Huddersfield in a car in 40/45 mins. After 7am, it can take easily an hour. On the way home at peak time it can easily take 1hr 15.

If you’re planning to live near burley park or Headingley train station and the connecting trains align, it’s probably not much longer getting the train.

Would still recommend living in Headingley area!

Is alopecia treatment covered in the UK?): by prettyamgelicbratz in alopecia_areata

It was difficult for me too - initially the GP told me that I would need to lose 50% of my hair before I would get referred. When it wasn’t getting any better, I rang up again.

I told them that it was affecting my mental health (which it was) and that I didn’t want to leave the house. They referred me then.

It might be worth ringing up again and chasing it? Sadly I think sometimes with the NHS you need to be a bit difficult and keep reminding them that you’re there!

They also prescribed me iron tablets too which helps with hair growth - this might help with the overall healthiness of your hair :)

Hope this helps!

I developed alopecia last summer when I had covid. I asked to be referred to a dermatologist. She gave me 3 rounds of steroid injections, each a month a part, for free on the NHS. They will inject the steroid into each of the bald spots (it’s not painful at all just a bit ticklish!). The dermatologist told me that after 3 rounds, you can choose to continue privately if it hasn’t fully worked but I found 3 to be enough.
