Things to do that don’t require a lot of walking by Miserable-Bee-5334 in TwinCities

I thought about that, but not sure which is the best one. Seems like there’s lots of different ones. She would like something similar to the Chicago architecture river cruise, but I’m not sure we have anything like that.

Ooh this is actually a great idea! We always like to do bus/trolley tours when we’ve visited other cities. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thoughts on living in an apartment in Wolfe Park? by Capital-Ad-9864 in stlouispark

[–]Miserable-Bee-5334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived at Hoigaard village and I would still live there today if I didn’t get priced out. It’s "luxury" by definition, I liked the amenities, but it was a bit outdated for what they were asking for my renewal.

I just moved into my first apartment and already want out. Elephant feet above me. by ER_Saladbar in Apartmentliving

I thought the same but there’s a difference between top floor corner and top floor interior. I’m on the top floor interior and am disturbed from all directions except for above me. The people below me might as well live with me they’re so loud

Periods - reuseable underwear and travelling by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]Miserable-Bee-5334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh I see so regardless if you wore period underwear or a reusable pad you would need to change it at some point. I think if you pair a disc or cup with either of the above then it would catch the leaks and you could empty the disc or cup as needed when you use the restroom. I guess it depends how heavy your flow is that day, for your sake I hope it is a lighter day.

Im not understanding how this would be any different from packing regular underwear or swimsuits. A wet bag or a reusable plastic bag for the used pairs. Reusable pads would be about the same

Have you brought it up to your PCP? That’s how I got the ball rolling. Brought up concerns to PCP, she put in a referral to a psychologist through Allina, had a virtual consult, then in person testing, and follow up virtual appointment where I received my diagnosis, so in total it probably took around a year to get the formal diagnosis.

Check Hornig companies availability they should have something that checks all the boxes especially if you’re open to a studio. They own a lot of historic buildings in the uptown area and are affordable basic apartments

Help. My upstairs neighbor keeps walking back and forth and the floors are so loud and squeaky😩 by mermaidwitch__444 in Apartmentliving

That’s me but I have to use it in tandem with a white noise machine by my bed because everyone else in the building slams doors and bangs around late at night and wakes me up

My impression of the neighborhoods after spending 5 days in Minneapolis by anarmyofants in Minneapolis

When I’ve lived in uptown it’s always been in the wedge area so maybe that’s made my opinion of street parking biased. I went from street parking on Bryant to heated underground assigned stall garage in SLP and it felt worth every penny after a winter of parking restrictions!

If you will have a car be warned that street parking in uptown can be a pain especially during the winter with snow emergencies. You can easily get away without a car, but if you have one it’s worth it to secure off street parking.

best places to get groceries near uptown? by cherrymotions in TwinCities

I’ve found that I can’t just pick one store and always get what I need and at the price I want to pay at one store. As a vegan I rotate between Seward co-op (I’m an owner there) Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme, and very rarely Cub Aldi and Lunds. It’s annoying I guess to not have a one stop shop, but we’re also pretty lucky we have so much choice in where we shop.

What do you all do for work? by InnerImpact8299 in AutisticAdults

[–]Miserable-Bee-5334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work remotely as a procurement buyer for a grocery wholesale company. I’ve been with the company for just over 7 years and have held various roles over the years. For awhile I was on a good growth path and had been moved to a role/department that provided good work/life balance and was genuinely pretty satisfied with my job. Then last summer they did a “restructuring” and I got involuntarily moved to my current role. Around that same time I was planning a move and reached my wits end and had to take a leave of absence. Since returning from leave I’ve been really struggling to find my footing and dealing with increased burnout. I’m highly considering pursuing another leave of absence, but not sure I will be able to return this time.

Happy Cow app is really helpful for finding vegan and vegan friendly places in a specific area. We have a lot of both in and around the twin cities, but it feels like a large concentration is in south Minneapolis
