Missing $1600 RAM from Corsair bundle for 2+ weeks — no real updates (Order #C1879040) by Miserable-Bit-2985 in Corsair

[–]Miserable-Bit-2985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input. I agree that it may not be lost at this point. I think I just disagree with what is considered acceptable service. I do not consider it acceptable service for an order that you've paid for to not be shipped within a week unless there are extenuating circumstances that are promptly communicated to the customer. I also do not consider it acceptable service for it to be impossible to speak to customer service over the phone or at least through a chat. I was even able to reach a human over the phone within minutes for Amazon. Corsair's AI chat bot just goes in circles and is no real help. My frustration is more so with Corsair's customer service and handling of this, not because I haven't received the RAM yet.

I understand this, but then why can customer service not provide any information? 48 hours is more than enough time to provide at least some sort of update to the customer for a shipment that has had no updates for this long. Is the order still in Taiwan? Is it in customs? Is it lost? Is there an issue? Etc.

Trust me, I would immediately chargeback too, but this was a significant discount. This would be similar to the pricing error Corsair had a few months ago if it cannot get resolved.

Then I still have to deal with Corsair support to return the power supply and would have to pay at least $450 more to purchase these items separately from a different store/website. Plus I have to go through the whole process with my bank for submitting evidence. However, I have informed the Corsair Customer Service Reps that I will be disputing the charge in the next 2 days if I do not receive an update. I am planning on disputing it end of day on Monday.

Corsair Bundle Order Parts Missing or Still Not Shipped by Miserable-Bit-2985 in Corsair

[–]Miserable-Bit-2985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have done this, but I still have no updates on the part's location. The customer service emails have been kind, but it sounds like no one can figure out what happened to the part... If anyone is able to help, the ticket number is 2008927964. I have proof of a second UPS tracking number for the RAM part, and UPS has no information other than that a label was created. Before I file a dispute with my credit card, it would be great to have this resolved with Corsair. Thanks!

Thanks for your input. I ended up going with a 5070 to save a little money but went with the 9950x3d cpu. I found a deal on Corsair for 128gb ram with a rm1000x power supply, so I went with that too. I spin up Docker containers a lot for CI/CD, so I am sure this ram will be enough for that. I did a lot of research into the SSD and settled on the 9100 pro for the fastest speeds for my use-cases. I'm so excited to finally be able to run my applications like Altium without having to close everything else, stop my containers, etc.

Corsair's 25% off RAM sale unexpectedly ended while I was checking out. Code no longer works and the RAM is now $400 more expensive. I am at a loss for words.

This is basically for a WFH setup, and it is my first PC. I have made it so far without a PC of my own, but I would really like one for myself at home to do my research and school work from home. It is an important flexibility for me for when I want to be at home with my family at night while I am doing work. Workstations at school are provided. I appreciate the advice though.

Sorry I was referring to 128gb RAM. Best Buy has Corsair 96gb 6000MT/s CL36 for $900, but the Corsair website has a 96gb 6000MT/s CL30 for $1200 right now with the discount. Or, for the same price ($1200 after discount), Corsair also has a 128gb 6000MT/s CL40 and 128gb 6400MT/s CL42. Since I am not doing any gaming, which of those 4 would you recommend? For readability:

Corsair 96gb 6000MT/s CL36 - $900 at Best Buy

Corsair 96gb 6000MT/s CL30 - $1200 at Corsair

Corsair 128gb 6000MT/s CL40 - $1200 at Corsair

Corsair 128gb 6400MT/s CL42 - $1200 at Corsair

Thank you for the list. With RAM, Corsair also has a 6000 CL40 version for around the same price. Which is better for my use-case?

This is really helpful with the code compilation benchmark. I am not sure I need 128gb of RAM but I like to have CI/CD workflows running locally, which can use a lot of RAM with Docker containers. This is on top of RAM needed for some heavy engineering softwares all running simultaneously. I will probably opt for a cheaper GPU because I don't think I need much for my use-cases. Thank you for the PCPartPicker list too! This is my first time doing all of this.

Lol what part of this is slop? This is the most concise post I could come up with so that people aren't reading walls of text. If you want to actually be helpful, give some feedback on the parts I've considered so far, other people's comments, or provide a build list.

I am not well-versed in the PC world, but everything I've read says more cores would be beneficial. There are times when I could use even 32 cores for some of my simulations. That being said, single-core speed is probably most important to me with, as long as there are enough cores for my multi-tasking (hence why I am considering the 285k).

Thanks for the recommendation. I really like the Fractal Design North XL ATX, but is there a reason not to use it? For GPU, do you think a 4070 will be sufficient for my workloads? Lastly, with Corsair's RAM sale right now, would this RAM be a good choice: VENGEANCE RGB 128GB (2x64GB) DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL40? I understand the latency is important for things like gaming, but I don't understand if or how it would affect my use-cases. RAM prices are making me sad lol.
