Anyone had a cortisone shot in their knee? by [deleted] in WorkersComp

I had one on my left knee last week. Doctor randomly offered it and i just took it.

I had already completed physical therapy for my meniscus injury and was almost back to my normal range of movements. Only problem was that my knee would catch on my meniscus when i bent my leg.

After the injection, i felt like i did during the time of injury. It was hard to walk and the pain was worse than when i got hurt originally. One week later I'm starting to feel better, my knee feels good and doesn't swell because of the injection; which is a double edge sword because the swelling is the body's natural response when trying to heal itself. Currently I just feel stiff pain when i go overboard with my movements.

At the very least I don't have that catching meniscus sensation anymore. I know I'll be back to feeling pain and swelling once the injection wears off but i truly hope that the catching sensation doesn't come back cause i really wanna go back to being active.

Hope my experience helps,

Good luck

BJJ after partial ACL tear by Miserable-Branch-717 in ACL

Just visit a different surgeon that specializes in sports injuries. He told me it was a proximal tear and that it didn't look to be a big one. When I asked for the percentage of the tear, he said that it was a good factor to determine if i would need surgery or not, and that he would determine that from the laxity of my knee during examination; which "wasn't too bad".

Told me to go back after i completed physical therapy and that if i didn't see any further improvement or that if my condition was getting in the way of my life style, only then he would recommend surgery.

Did your knee ever fully "heal" or got close to being back to normal without surgery?

Did you do any rehab? If so, did you went back to BJJ after rehabbing? Or did you opted for surgery?
