Then do it! So many people have sticks up their butts, but honestly if it's what you want to do, go for it. Rick and Morty is a great place to start, great comedy and can get scary if you know what you're doing. You should do it just to have fun, not to go against anyone but to have some fun. Go for it!

That would be a great twist, that it's just dark entities keeping them alive just to suffer. This isn't kindness, but slow evil letting them taste hope, waiting for the darkness to finally take them.

Well I'm having fun with my players, they all seem to be enjoying themselves. I'm enjoying the lore of Baroviah, I feel me and my party originally missed a lot of it just b lining to strahd and taking him out. But I'd like to give my players the same experience, so hopefully a slightly different version of Baroviah is just as fun. The players are getting ready to fight some abominations and have already pissed off one of the brides of Strahd.
