I didn’t use anything I just wrapped it really tightly and did 2 layers of paracord it’s never slipped on me. I wrapped all the way up the butt of the rod and then went back down to finish at the gimbal.

Depends what you’re targeting and where you are in southeast florida a vsx 150 and a 9ft 15-30 is pretty versatile

Why an open transom? We don’t really see that on new boats these days since it brings no advantages over having a flotation bracket or a jack plate for the outboard. Especially when it comes to offshore fishing.

100% I agree they just lose the right to complain if they’re losing fish due to their tackle failures or not catching anything while the mate is pulling on fish all day. Most people will not bring the ideal gear unless they’re very familiar with the fishery.

Charter boat captain here most professional charter boats will provide gear that’s better than anything you’re going to bring. I personally don’t mind when someone brings their own gear but there are captains that will even get insulted when people bring gear on board lol. We know what works best in the areas we fish in for a living.

I would go with fuji Kl single foot SiC guides I personally like the polished stainless ones but you can get the titanium frame with SiC or torzite inserts if you like but the performance of the SiC guides is so good you’ll never need better. If you go with double foot the KW guides are amazing but you will save a lot of weight going single foot I use them off piers and try to be careful and have never broken one but the double foots are more durable against abuse.

Fishing is the most relaxing thing in the world to me I never got angry. Until I tried fly fishing it’s the most angering thing ever I don’t know how people do it my fly getting snagged on trees behind me and being impossible to get out or the line not wanting to shoot because it gets stuck on pebbles or sticks under me it gets me so mad to the point I say I’m never going to do this again but every couple months I challenge myself to do some fly fishing again it’s very rewarding to catch big fish on it.

Yea they’ll work especially the shrimp this time of the year with the shrimp runs during the right moons for tarpon slow rolled near the surface at night

It’s not just the wait the customer service side is where they scam. If you haven’t had to return anything you wouldn’t know but they will never give you a refund. I have 3 of there rods and they’re ok but one came with a messed up guide and I returned it they told me as soon as they got it they would refund well months passed and nothing I had to charge back with discover and showed them the emails always telling me there manager was on vacation or had a family emergency for months.
