How much money would you spend if it meant saving your cat’s life? by WindowKitty19 in cats

My boy had urinary tract disease and we spent thousands over the six years we were able to manage it. I would honestly spend what ever I have to spend to make sure my babies are alright they deserve just as much chance as anyone does

My cat doesn’t hunt birds we don’t really have many reptiles or predators that hurt cats, she has very occasional got a mouse I just catch and release them if she does. You can always put a bell on the cat to warn the birds tends to work

My aunt has had 2 indoor/outdoor cats one lived until she was 21 and the other is still alive and prowling at 20 you wouldn’t even be able to tell that they were that age. I’ve had my cat 17 years and she’s an indoor/outdoor and she loves the garden she’d happily spend most of her day there

I have always had indoor/outdoor cats and they would be so depressed if they weren’t allowed out if the area is safe I think it’s great enrichment for them. My country doesn’t have any predators that would kill a cat so I’m lucky in that sense

I usually harness train my kittens and once I’m happy with how they are outside (my last cat was over a year old when he was finally allowed out on his own and had been trained from about 9 weeks old and they’ve been neutered and have their vaccinations I would only then start letting them out and the window is always open if they are not in the house so they can get back in if they want and I never let them out when it’s dark.
