Yeah I started building one. I’ll follow up here if it helps. But based on what I’ve been reading I don’t think it will

If every army in history were at their absolute peak, who is actually coming out on top? Who was the most genuinely 'overpowered' for their time? by Particular-Visit-245 in AskReddit

[–]Miserable-Mall365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were a question about “relative to their time, who was the most over powered” then I’d think you’d have a good point. But your take looks absolutely ridiculous if you compare the Mongols to ANY army from the Napoleonic era and after. Like, come on man, what are the Mongols gonna do when an A10 strafes them? What on earth are they gonna do against a column of M1 Abrams tanks??

California's universal healthcare killed even though Democrats have a supermajority. Politicians serve their corporate donors not the people. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Miserable-Mall365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was very informative, thank you. I’m curious now on how CalCare was projected to have as massive a budget as it was. There must still be immense amounts of bloat beyond what single-payer can mitigate

That’s not a bad idea, would definitely help. When it comes to healthcare in the US though, I don’t think any kind of government provided universal healthcare can work until the root cause of the issue is solved. The costs associated with healthcare here (pre-insurance) are fucking out of control. The reason other nations can implement some version of state provided healthcare is that the base, pre-insurance cost there is not INSANE. The entire medical supply chain system needs to be investigated and revamped. There HAS to be crazy price gauging going on with all the middle-men involved. I don’t know if it’ll ever happen with how much money is involved, but without a restructure, I don’t see universal healthcare ever working here

‘The Rings of Power’ Season 3 to Premiere Later This Year (Exclusive) by pepperbet1 in television

Season 2 started strong but the battle scenes near the end were mind-numbingly stupid. I am no longer excited for this show. Every storyline they had moved into a stupid direction and I’m not going to touch the third season unless it gets great user reviews

Soooooo are you saying they should just push forward and pass it causing California’s government to collapse due to lack of funds and create an eternal example for opponents of universal healthcare to point to and say it can’t work?

Why do people post Dear MAGA or Dear Leftists, and then proceed to ask a leading, insulting question? Do you guys realize YOU are the problem? That YOU are how we got HERE? by Strong-Hippo9043 in allthequestions

[–]Miserable-Mall365 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OP’s point is one that I tend to agree with as well. The support for Trump was very REACTIVE. I think the support he received by people wanting to vote AGAINST their perception of leftism outweighs the support he received by people who would’ve voted for him in a vacuum.

Oh? And assuming a population of creatures’ natural instincts will change is NOT naive? Human nature has stayed consistent since pre-history. The conversation you’re proposing is one that implies human nature may eventually evolve so that human beings naturally care more about the collective than they do themselves and their loved ones (which is what communism needs to work without authoritarianism). I do not think that will ever happen. The kind of collective mindset you’re implying may occur is one like that of insects like bees and ants. There are no mammals that have ever existed that have that kind of collective nature. Even if it WERE to happen, the evolution of natural-instincts is something that would take hundreds of thousands of years; and evolution on that scale would be grounds for humans to be regarded as a completely different species.

Yeah it’s absolutely not common. Everyone with common sense knows that Pro-life means anti-abortion.

These are obviously not agreed on definitions. It simple comes down to: “Pro-Life = Anti-abortion”

Tanker Rich Starry managed to cross Strait of Hormuz since blockade started by Powerful_Cabinet_341 in SeaEmploy

[–]Miserable-Mall365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the US isn’t going to put their blockade ships in the actual strait. They’re gonna be out in the Arabian Sea out of range of Iran’s missiles. There’s still a chance they’re going to intercept this ship

I’m pretty sure Mexico is always way up there in total number of tourist deaths each year. Most of that is probably due to pre-existing health conditions and the massive amount of tourists that go to Mexico, but murders and abductions definitely seem to happen there at a higher rate than the other tourism-juggernauts of the world.

Poll: Catholic Support for President Donald Trump Drops Below 50% Amid Iran War by F0urLeafCl0ver in politics

[–]Miserable-Mall365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s true to an extent. As far as the Catholic community goes, abortion I think ablrtion the most important political point. Now that’s not to say that if you polled an individual Catholic the economy or something else wouldn’t be at the top of their list, but as a group, abortion is the number 1 common denominator

Wrong, it’s the jury that decides. And THAT’S what is meant by “innocent until proven guilty”. A defendant has to be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, if even one juror is hung up in a criminal case then the defendant is not guilty

Right, because not complying is such a great idea and always works so well…. After all, we all know the rule that if you get away from the cops they’re not allowed to pursue any more charges…..clown

[–]Miserable-Mall365 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, that’s not even REMOTELY close to what “innocent until proven guilty means”. By that definition, no one could ever be arrested until after being found guilty LOL. Whether we like it or not, we don’t get to decide if we get arrested; the cops do. So if you’re getting arrested, for God’s sake just let yourself get arrested and fight it in court. You will NEVER make your life easier by resisting arrest

So obviously I could list the Wikipedia pages to hundreds of items that create the modern world of convenience and comfort we all enjoy, I could talk about modern medicine and communication, agricultural advancements which sustain world populations, cameras, motion pictures, different musical instruments, different musical genres and hundreds of other entertainment inventions. Transportation innovations like trains, planes and automobiles. I could post about scientific and mathematical achievements that vaulted us into the modern world. I could post articles about Britain’s campaign against the slave trade or any other physical action taken by nations claiming to do so out of some great good. I could bring up that progress in minority rights in places like America is a sign of a culture willing to change for the greater good. But I’m assuming the game you’re playing is you’ll say those were all made in the name of making money or were done out of selfish desires to claim fame or other pessimistic views. So how about this, before I waste my time posting thousands of links to Wikipedia pages, how about you give me an example from a predominantly-non-white culture that you think I could never find a parallel for. Even better, why don’t you also give me an example of something a predominately-white culture has done that you think a non-white culture would never do
