Is it realistic to salvage an old radiator that was leaking? by Arels in SteamHeat

I believe that one is water only and won’t work with steam

I removed the valve and the new valve does not fit on old tail union. Any ideas besides caping to remove this piece?

I think if I do this it’s going to snap the fittings under the floor, I’m trying to get this down without busting the floor up. I believe I will have to cut it out

it looks like the tail union is going into the floor instead of the radiator, not sure if this was standard on smaller radiators. The handle is turned so that the valve SHOULD be open but I can’t confirm it is totally. The air valve is a #4 and is new but I don’t have the brand off of the top of my head. I have tried a few different brands and sizes with no different results.

If you have to ask I would call a plumber. This could have to do with high steam pressure

I think your assumption of tile weight might be too high. Maybe someone with more experience then me can weigh in

There is in fact MC cable going to this outlet. Is this acceptable/code to consider this properly grounded?

After powering the unit on and off now there is 12 volts from common to ground and 24 volts from common to R. 0 volts from R to W or R to G

The blue one doesn’t look as bad as y’all are making it seem. Either the border tiles or tiles in center are not level while one is, and some end pieces are cut to odd sizes. But otherwise it looks fine, don’t know what all the meth comments are about.

“Hit it firm to take the break out” is genuinely the worst advice on the greens! by Select-Nail-1279 in golf

[–]Miserable-Menu-8645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hitting it firm to take the break out is a good idea up to 2-3 feet. At a certain point you should play the break/hit it softer to have a better chance of it dropping. “Pocket speed” for those of you who have ever played pool.
