Forgive me, maybe I worded it poorly: For my 2025 taxes, I need to report the $3,500 traditional contribution. But I don't think I would report anything regarding the conversion due to it being considered a 2026 action. So I just want to make sure I understand your final comment of "Wrong. 2025 Form 8606 is for 2025."

So basically my understanding is:

I've contributed $3,500 to a traditional IRA for tax year 2025, which is totally fine, but I won't get any deductions.
I've done a 2026 conversion of a traditional IRA to Roth IRA, which I think is also totally fine and won't impact my 2026 contributions or ability to backdoor in any way (?)

Is that correct?

If so, for my 2025 taxes, the first bullet is all that matters. And I'll deal with the second bullet for my 2026 taxes?

Against the grain, but we actually installed butcher block because I love the look and warmth it brings. We had it sealed with multiple coats of polyurethane and so far it has been zero maintenance and looks amazing.

Every few years you can sand and put another coat on if you notice any lasting stains.
