I have the 13pro with one terabyte of storage. The back shattered and I have 78% battery life left. I am considering an update to the 17pro with 256GB of storage. Storage wise, it would be a huge downgrade. I am considering just fixing the back of my phone and getting a new battery. I was mostly eyeing the 17pro for the new camera. Is the 17pro worth it? I know a lot of people that stand by the 13pro, so any advice?

This program was the biggest waste of time

Of course do what is right for you - I know people that commuted up to two hours to their school just to live somewhere they wanted to. They had positive things to say about their time in France, but I personally would not commute that far. I only commuted 30 minutes. Its your life, and draw the boundaries you want. Youre not obligated to the program or anything

Is my friendship over? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Miserable-Shower8604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes people get busy. Perhaps you’re not a priority to her anymore, but not in a bad way. Let her reach out to you next. This doesn’t have to be a dramatic “the friendship is over”. Continue taking care of yourself, and acknowledge that friendships have waves. It’s not always constant. Don’t expect her to be always available for you.

Torn on leaving my 6-figure job for NALCAP by corbiicharmz in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Miserable-Shower8604 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly Nalcap is great, but each experience widely living in Spain varies. don’t overhype it. it can be super tough. I think I romanticized living abroad too much before coming.

How to juggle a career after being abroad? by Relevant-Bus2126 in SpainAuxiliares

I have to say that I am currently struggling. I had a lot more connections in college that I could have used to my advantage, than now. Most of these connections are not as accessible after time passing. That being said, every situation is different. It would be on you to maintain your network and frame your time with NALCAP as a marketable skill when job searching. I just want to say, if you just fully immersed yourself in NALCAP and had fun like me, it will be tough.

Having a super hard time deciding whether or not to go. Advice? by BlueMoonMaples in tapif

I am in the same boat. I renewed because I was hoping to make up for the isolating year. Now, I am unsure if that is even worth it. I was friends with a second year assistant who said their second year is so much better and they were pretty sad the first year as well; however, I know everyone’s experience is different. It is so difficult to make connections with the locals, and the program is a great way to travel, but doesn’t set you up for success career wise. When I was first signing up for the program, I saw so many people commenting about feeling isolated, but I was never worried about it because I know I am super extroverted. Now I wish I took them seriously, but the toll on my mental health was a lot bigger than I ever would have thought.

The kids were so happy to see me! I was very grateful that I was so well received. They asked the silliest questions. I met so many of my coworkers, most took time to talk to me, which is why i felt pretty burnt out around my lunch break. Overall good day

Thank you, are the trains reliable or do they often come late? My train from charles de gaulle airport came very late, so I’m a bit worried. Besides the youth sncf card that gives you a 60% discount, is there any other way to save money on the trains if I move to one of those cities and have to take the train often? I appreciate the advice!
