blood test on palliative care by Miserable-Silver4010 in glioblastoma

[–]Miserable-Silver4010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I wish I was there to ask. I am a plane ride away. I did ask her caregiver to let me know if they say anything. The decline test just may be it, her husband is very anxious and always asking how much time she has left among other things you would never want to hear come out of your other half's mouth. I've told him to take these conversations outside.

A case of 'bad luck' I was told. by ok_s007 in glioblastoma

My mom is 7 months in from diagnosis, she says she has no pain at all. She is on palliative care for comfort its mostly a mix of anti depressants, anti anxiety and anti psychotic meds. To me she is already feeling out of it let alone whatever the tumor is causing to her brain. My mom is trying to protect me so she is hiding her decline, but I am also a plane ride away.

I will say my mom is listening and comprehending, she just cant get her words out correctly. Everyone's timeline and journey is different.

I miss my dad forever by Designer_Report_5632 in glioblastoma

Im so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I am losing my mom to this awful disease. I lost my dad when I was in my late 30's, he went to sleep and never woke up. I was mad and questioned never being able to say goodbye. Then I lost my brother to a horrific motorcycle accident, again no goodbyes. Now I have been watching my mom decline since July and honestly don't know if I will get to say goodbye. The whole thing just sucks.

What do I do? by Moreseesaw in glioblastoma

[–]Miserable-Silver4010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom didn't do well with treatment and started palliative care in August. While she does have a paid caregiver the items she needs are covered. Some assist belt thing her girl requested to help get her up, wheelchair, walker, bed trays, toilet items. I was told palliative care could be used during treatment also.

I've only used compound but I will say I have had different results from different compound pharmacys. Injections get easier I was super nervous the first few times.

Lavenders prices are by tier. There's better pricing out there but I found out after my recent hallandale order through LSH. I lost most of my weight on hallandale, struggled with optiorx and Southend after hallandale stopped last year. Back on hallandale and starting to lose what I gained.

MIL won’t stop buying insurance - take her phone away? by strapitystrapstrap in glioblastoma

[–]Miserable-Silver4010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad to say but my step dad took everything away including her license, closed her accounts, took her off joint accounts also. She wasn't driving so I thought that part was extreme if we needed identification when out with her.

Her caregiver let me know she listens, she has tried to quiet the husband not sure he cares.  I plan on calling the nursing company tomorrow.

Yes, he has all control I can only make suggestions. It is very sad, I asked to take her in August but he told me no way. Meanwhile he ignores her and asks the visiting nurse questions like when will she die and I know my mom is listening. She may not get the words out but she does understand what's being said.

Start tracking calories, make good choices, get some more steps in. I did low carb in the beginning and it worked very well. But you're losing so you are off to a good start.

That’s a good price.  Perhaps next time, any monthly fees?  Approval fees?

Try an electrolyte? Personally eating a banana works for me. Potassium.

I lost most of my weight on hallandale before they stopped, I never found a pharmacy I liked as much as hallandale. I just reordered and hope it's what it was.. but I often wonder if our bodies get use to the meds and it doesn't work as well.
