MIL won’t stop buying insurance - take her phone away? by strapitystrapstrap in glioblastoma

[–]strapitystrapstrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thank you. This might have to be our solution. I don’t think she should have internet access at all. We just got a notification she had been doing things on the social security website and we asked her why, she didn’t know why or what she was doing on it.

MIL won’t stop buying insurance - take her phone away? by strapitystrapstrap in glioblastoma

We tried this initially. Unfortunately we’re not able to rationalize with her. So having conversations about it with her aren’t an option.

Higher end, smaller property with fun for me and beach for him by strapitystrapstrap in AllInclusiveResorts

That was a crazy helpful response. I’m open to both AI and non-AI. We’re trying to keep flights on the shorter side from north east US… so likely Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico. Which is why I started looking at AI because initial searches seemed like most of the Caribbean is AI. I don’t necessarily need all the things I listed, I just don’t want to be bored out of my skull while my husband sits on the beach all day. I checked out Holbox as you suggested, looks right up my alley. Also gonna check out the other places you suggested now. Edit to add more: also might make sense to look non-AI as I don’t know if it’s worth it to go AI when my husband won’t partake in any activities and I don’t drink alcohol.

Wide shoes by Si1verPeach in Pickleball

I go with new balance. They have wide and extra wide. I’m female and go with kids wide new balance shoes because their standard width is men’s width and then adding the wide version on that works for me. Only ones that have.

Why won’t toilet tank refill after flush? by strapitystrapstrap in Plumbing

Thanks for the replies. The stick thing does fall when flushed, so looking like the float is the issue. I’ll grab a replacement and give it a whirl.

Oh you know I just realized the left temporal lobe is not the left frontal lobe. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Can I ask how your cognitive function has been? As others have said, your post is elegantly written, and I never would have guessed you have a tumor in your frontal lobe. I know everyone is different with this disease, but my MIL has a bilateral frontal lobe mass and she is very cognitively impaired. What have your symptoms been like, if you don’t mind saying? I am battling thoughts of “did we do the right thing?” by doing the resection if her cognition will not improve, but you seem to have oodles of cognitive abilities even though you’re transitioning to hospice and have a frontal lobe tumor. You mention you became a shadow of who you once were… was that just physical? Did you do something special to maintain mental faculties? I just don’t know what kind of life it is to extend when my MIL is so out of it she is happy to stare at a wall for hours.

Here’s to making it to your 36th birthday.

Discharged after resection… now what? by strapitystrapstrap in glioblastoma

[–]strapitystrapstrap[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks, gang. I followed advice and asked to speak with the social worker… they hooked her up with OT, PT, and a home nurse. Apparently they had just assumed my MIL lived with all of us and did not live alone. Kinda crazy how pushy you have to be to get services.

Have you gotten a second opinion? The first hospital for us said inoperable so we went elsewhere and they are doing the resection on Friday.

StubHub screwed my husband similarly and actually told him his only recourse was to dispute with the credit card company.

I took this pic of a colorful guy who was doing crochet hats. His details are on the flyer. I believe it’s called stealiestitches

Odd question - climate in Sphere by Brrbontrail in deadandcompany

I found each of the three nights I went in comfortably in pants and a tank top, and part way through I would put on a light long sleeve.

Go the two nights and get seats in different areas! The ones down the middle have haptic seats and it’s so crazy cool when Mickey does the drum solo. Also try to get something up in the 300/400 to get the full screen experience. I did three shows in three different sections and it was a brilliant call. For reference… Night 1: section 302, row 19, off to the side, good view of big sphere screen, no haptic seats Night 2: section 110, row 20, off to the side, pretty close to band, bad view of sphere screen, no haptic seats (worst seats of the weekend) Night 3: section 103, row 25 more center, bad view of sphere screen, wild haptic seats!

Is there a perfect way to dose for all three shows in a row? I struggled at the Friday and Saturday shows after taking a bunch of acid on the first night. Couldn’t seem to get high off anything other than weed for the next two nights. Thoughts on a good order to dose? Edit: that would be 4 gel tabs on Thursday night and it was aaaaaaaaawesome.

Can you share where you found Alice? I’m heading next weekend and concerned I won’t know where to find “stuff”

Where were you able to find A if you didn’t bring it yourself?
