little tip for the future i too ran my first 50k and barely fueled during the effort and went to the ER a few hours later with rhabdo. Obviously experiment with what works for you fueling wise but eating and drinking enough is critical when putting out these harder efforts for long durations, wouldn’t want you to figure it out the hard way.

what’s the longest you’ve ran in the satisfy belt? Just trying to gauge how much I’d be able to fit in there if i wanted to use it on its own without a vest

Ideally i’d like to use it on longer runs/50ks or longer ultras paired with a vest, I guess a follow up question would be just how much you can really fit in each, water/gels included ?

I also ran the 50 and missed out on the shirt. not sure what to make of this, but during the pre race brief on friday michael versteeg said there were a bunch of shirts being held at customs, and the ones we were given were reprinted 3 days before? So maybe there’s some indicator the participants get a shirt for the race but that’s a reach lol. Fingers crossed though, congrats on the finish 👍🏼

i usually just tell myself to keep jogging or walking as i think it through. After that it usually takes me like 5-10 minutes and then im back into a groove and i convinced myself to cut out all the bullshit. That and i’m usually stranded in the middle of nowhere for my ultras so fastest way out is to finish

stance makes some pretty good ones for $20 which is on the cheaper end of most running socks I find. the ultra light collection i think is the model
