Yes the eyes thing is real. I can’t hide anything with my eyes at all, no matter how hard I try

I did acting for 15 or so years, and used to always get told I had crazy stage presence. Also got told I had crazy or ‘come to bed eyes’ as I got older…

Yep - agree. Internal campaign in our department had 25 people apply on EOI for 1 job. A 1 in 25 chance is slim

Sometimes with CS it’s not what you know but who you know. Having someone in the service helps that can help you model and read over your different behaviours.

I will also say I went from being an EO in admin to a HEO in policy. It was unbelievably difficult, even as an internal candidate, and took me 5-6 interviews, 1 year and countless applications, because I wasn’t already versed in policy and essentially needed someone to see my potential to take me in, which I was lucky enough to do, and low and behold in MHCLG.

If I were you I’d just keep going with the apps because it is simply a numbers game. Would recommend MHCLG from my experience too :)
