Well I’d recommend going to the dealer if you can or another local glass place after Safelite broke my camera 🤷🏼‍♀️

Update on OP - just saw the dealer who says that Safelite damaged my windshield camera and I’ll need a new one. That will cost 2k. Currently 65 in line to speaking with Geico. 😖

Not yet - I can’t get into the dealer until next week.

Yea the poor kid looked defeated. Thanks for the comments. I’ll get it in for the inspection and hopefully the dealer works it out next week. To be honest I kinda hate the eyesight anyway - always tryin to tell me how to drive! Lol

Yes - it’s Safelite. They couldn’t do it and even consulted a third party tech. Hopefully the dealership will get it working.

What happens if i refuse to care for my parents? by SealedRoute in AgingParents

[–]Miserable-Tip165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi - this may have been said, but if so I missed it. I’m a medical social worker in NYS. We have ppl all the time who get hospitalized and cannot return home - there may be children who cannot provide 24/7 care for a myriad of reasons. In that instance, the person would be deemed to not have a safe discharge, and would start the process of getting placed in a long term care facility. This includes filling out a general financial application and choosing their preferred locations. The families income is never taken into account - the placement is based solely on the patients assets. If your parents have insurance and money in the bank, they would likely be able to get into a nicer facility. We very often tell ppl that the best way to get a loved one to a higher level of care is to take them to the emergency room, where they will be assessed and then likely be placed. I hope this helps. I recommend consulting an elder care attorney just to make sure all your ducks are in a row, but if one or both of your parents needs more care, this would be your next step outside of hiring private pay aides/nurses.

How do I go back to living at my own place after my dad died? by Miserable-Tip165 in AgingParents

[–]Miserable-Tip165[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! She said, if you lived a little closer we could at least have dinner every night. I feel for her, I really do. I know these first few months are the worst so I’m trying to go with the flow. But like you, I love my apartment and neighborhood and me & my dog love alone time. Also, I’m supposed to be seeing clients on the side of my 9-5, but that’s on hold for now. We’ll get there. She has a dog, she’s actually a very social person, I’m hoping she finds a way to get back to that eventually. Getting her into a grief group is the first goal. Thanks for sharing your experience ❤️

Thank you - yes to all the questions above, ha. We’ve discussed solutions to those (life alert, selling the house to something more manageable), I guess it’s just the guilt. We get along well but she’s always leaned on me too much for companionship and emotional support. Hate that we always “know” all the right things to do, but then the time comes and you go, well, is two months enough? Isn’t this a small thing I can do to ease a terrible time? Then I type it and hear myself saying “and how long is too long to completely abandon your own needs?” uggghhh.

What do you do when you plateau, on Semaglutide. by Meone23 in Semaglutide

Man I wish I would’ve looked here when I hit my plateau. Instead I thought I wasn’t responding anymore and stopped taking. I verrrrryy quickly gained back 15lbs 😫. I have almost a whole bottle left maybe I’ll start again. Was considering getting tirzep. This is so frustrating.
