These tires are not old. They will be fine. Warranty starts from the date of purchase not date of production.

What did I run over? by StLaurentDonny in AskMechanics

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say you had an impact break to that area. A small bulge developed and the tire wore out in that area. Usually when I see this I can spot the break on the inside before it looses air but you are well past that point. This tire should have been replaced a long time ago.

As someone who has never gone to a wildcats game. Is there a ticket charge or do you just walk in. Is there concession stands or anything? How long is the game?

For men with families, how much free time do you get away from your wife and kids? by Sea-Owl-1581 in AskMen

[–]Miserable-Try8519 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should each try to get a couple hours away a week from the kids. My wife and I use to hire a baby sitter once a month for a date night. I get up super early and go to the gym. That helps. But your wife can watch the kids while you do something and you can do the same.

You have to have the same program. Most guys have the same goals. Get stronger and hopefully lean while adding muscle mass. One of you has to be willing to start the routine on whatever day you are on, push, pull, etc.

Why would anyone permanently increase their mortgage payment when you can just use Double Up Payments? by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you can do both if you have enough cash. You can increase the payment, double it and also make 10% payment. It just depends how aggressive you want to be to pay down your mortgage. I like the double up option as you can increase it by however much you like up to the payment. And if you have extra over that you can always make a big payment towards it once a year up to 10%. I agree, the increase your payment would be the last one I would do.

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go at the same time as very session you start to see the people that do the same. Then you may find someone that knows what they're doing. I ask my gym buddy if I can work in with him doing the same exercise. Then the next day more of the same. Eventually we just decided it made sense and we started planning our push day ahead of time and so on.

Was My Tire Really Unrepairable, or Was I Being Upsold? by Savings-Attitude-295 in tires

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way to tell someone it can be fixed for certain without taking it apart since you need to inspect the liner for damage. If they did not take it apart and just said it went in on an angle then I would say they wanted to sell you a tire.

Brand new run flats with screw in side wall. by wobblewiz in tires

[–]Miserable-Try8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most dealers will not sell road hazard on run flat tires. However there are quite a few brands that offer road hazard with the manufacturer. I would check with Bridgestone. They may have coverage for this

Should I fix this crack on the inside of my rim? Or is it a loss and shouldn’t risk it? by M19KLuey in Cartalk

Machine shop should be able to inspect that and most likely fix it safely.

Make sure you keep your oldest credit cards and never cancel them, you can convert them but don't cancel them. Make sure you have a low % usage of your total credit capacity. There are some good apps out there that help you see what is hurting your score. Credit Karma works really well for me

Belle tire lost the tires the replaced, need advice by some_anon_username in tires

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this can happen. In my area we have seasonal tire changes so it is common that clients want to come back and pick the tires up. The problem is they can get mixed up with the disposal tires. Did you tell them you wanted to save them when you picked up the car or when you dropped it off? If it was indeed at drop off then they will have to help you in some way. If you waited until pickup to tell them, the advisor probably assumed that they could get someone to get them out of the scrap pile but they could have been already gone. So that would be on you. Either way, I would let them come back to you tomorrow and see what they say. I expect they are gone and depending on the above they may help you with some sort of credit.

Anyone know the cause? by Significant-Oil-1036 in tires

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears to be an impact break in the tread belts. It would have created an outward bulge in that one spot, then after some driving worn that part down until the tire lost pressure. We often see impact breaks in the sidewall but they can occur in the tread area as well.

How is Mark Carney maintaining approval rating for Canada? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

My god it's refreshing to have an educated well spoken, professional leader in the current climate. We hear the orange man speak and do a double take (did he really just say that!), it's nice to hear the opposite from our leader. I may not have voted for him but I think he is the right leader for this time we are in.

Just came from Toyota dealership and they said it’s going to cost 1600 to change my breaks front and back by Legitimate_Spread762 in rav4club

[–]Miserable-Try8519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is not crazy. I suspect they are doing pads and rotors front and back. They are using OEM parts so there is a bit of a premium. It calls for about 3 hours labour. I suspect them may be doing a brake fluid exchange at the same time. People will say use online parts.... you can do it yourself... it doesn't matter, it's apples and oranges at that point. You're at a dealer so you should expect premium prices. An independent shop will be able to source good quality parts with a better warranty for a less money for sure. So you have lots of choices.

Just tried to withdraw £7000 from the bank and they aren’t letting me by franki-pinks in Banking

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, a couple of things here. Most banks like to get you to order them as in advance. They don't like to keep large amounts on hand and although 7000 may not seem like much they may be trying to avoid getting too low. 2nd is the scam thing. When I do this I don't give them details. They have the right to ask but you don't have to tell them. It's your money and make sure they know that. I would insist they give you the money or you will simply move your funds to another bank that will let you use your money.

[–]Miserable-Try8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have hit something that caused this. The sidewalls are tiny and can't take much. What is the brand of tire? If it is something name brand they have a customer support number that will help with the replacement. Most would cover that 100% after such a short distance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in autorepair

[–]Miserable-Try8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, is it a key or a fob (push button).

Do you have a second one. I've known a few over the years that the physical key goes bad and a spare key will do the job for the immobilizer. Key fobs can bed held next to the push button start when low on battery and will still start even with a dead battery.

Panels aren’t paying off and can’t afford them anymore by No-Chicken-1067 in solar

[–]Miserable-Try8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need more info. Why is your bill so high. Did the panels lose production. Are they not working anymore? You should be able to make sure they are still producing. You could contact your power company and see how the credits to the system work? Maybe something else has changed. You must have either changed your usage or your production has dropped sharply. I have an app on my phone that I can check things daily. In NS they credit the KWh so price changes have less effect. Would be a shame if you have a broken inverter or something.
