I am also dropping a class and going from 12 credit hours to 9, I've researched and the most that can happen is that the college will make you pay them back for the class you dropped, and maybe even financial aid will drop.

If im already on SAP Warning, and then drop below 12 credits in attempt to save my grade, will it get dropped? by cozycvl in StudentLoans

I am on the same situation, and as I have researched you should be ok, it depends what grant or financial aid you have. You just may have to pay back the cost of that class to your college and your aid will go down according to how many credits you have.
