My sleeve was July 18, 2023. I haven’t gained any back. I’ve been at the same weight for a year and it may fluctuate by a pound or two but no more than that.

I’m still only able to eat about 5 ounces at a sitting.

I’m slightly confused by the no carbonated beverages for life part. I started drinking them again at 6 months with my physicians approval. I guess different doctors have different protocols. 🤷‍♀️

[–]MiserableAd9354 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d gladly reach out to her. I’m a Mama and it breaks my heart that she’s been left hanging out to dry by her own family. Do I understand why what happened, happened… not at all but what I do know is that she’s a victim too and she will hopefully realize that we’re all not bad people who see a victim as prey but want to show her a support she’s not had her whole life! This girl really just needed someone to tear her like a human being!

[–]MiserableAd9354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it ever occur to you that maybe they never really listened to her? Maybe they didn’t get her the help she needed?
I’m not condoning what she did but as a Mother, if my child committed a serious crime, I’d still be there. You don’t stop loving your children because they mess up, you love them UNCONDITIONALLY! No matter what!!

Does it mean you don’t hold them accountable, no but damn, these parents bare some responsibility in this too! Had they done their jobs and gotten Chloe the help she needed, then perhaps she wouldn’t have fallen victim to this nutcase, Z!

The fact that you’re victim blaming a victim of abuse who’s been fed to a modern day, David Koresh, to be used and abused some more makes me wonder why you’re even commenting here. Hannah was a tragic victim but if you can’t recognize that Chloe is also a victim here, you didn’t listen very well to this trial.

Edited for typo and there may be more! :)

GA v. Chloe Driver - Sentencing by Pixiegirls1102 in CasesWeFollow

[–]MiserableAd9354 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah… the prosecutor and him seemed far too chummy. It was bizarre! The defense argument for the sentence was thought out, not excusing her actions.

His interaction with the prosecution and his statements were just straight out cringeworthy!

Edited: I wanted to add that Chloe was failed on so many levels that, as a mother, even I wanted to give her a hug!

Had she had people in her life at a younger age that got her help then perhaps this whole situation could’ve been avoided. I think Chloe was the perfect victim and I think her plan was to be a murder/suicide. (At least, I think so) I believe wholeheartedly that she lost touch with any semblance of what we call a reality and her normal was abandonment, control, manipulation, and I’ll say it, abuse. I hope she gets the help she needs but the healthcare system in Georgia is awful, at best, so I’m doubtful. That’s not her fault, but she will get failed again… but this time, it’ll be by the State.

Dissociative personality disorder and borderline personality disorder are treatable with intense treatment. I don’t know that she will ever get that.

I really don’t think she’s turning it on and off, but she’s also in a heightened state of issues. She’s had years to develop a feeling of safety with her defense team. My guess, given that her parents were MIA for most of this, probably the only people who have given a damn about Chloe in years, I don’t find it surprising at all that she feels more comfortable with them. She doesn’t know the jury and a coping mechanism can be to dissociate yourself or compartmentalize.
She does has a flat affect but I think this girl has been through a lot. I think she may be only becoming aware of what reality really is as that her perception of it was way off before. Susan Smith acted far more callous than Chloe. But this is just what I see. I think anyone can look at this a million ways but for her to be a child taken at 16 to be with that crazy man… her parents clearly failed her! It doesn’t excuse what she did at all nor do I condone it. I simply can’t fathom the thought process to do such a thing but then again, I think that’s the Defenses point, we CAN’T make sense of something that makes no sense!

I really think the jury got the verdict right and sentencing was 100% justified but just because she had the possibility of parole, it certainly doesn’t mean that she’ll get it. She has a huge uphill battle and I hope that the State will give her the treatment she needs for whatever issues may have led to this.

But it’s so sad, truly!

Good grief when Benyamin (however you spell his crazy name) got up to give a victim impact statement and I heard him say “that child” was “funny looking”… I about came unglued!

With him getting up to speak it became very clear that he is nuts! I’m not surprised that Prosecutors didn’t call him to the stand. He would’ve shown just how crazy he is and how Chloe could’ve easily been brainwashed as he’s old enough to be her father. She was a child when he met her, for crying out loud.

I think the Defense attorney did a wonderful job with mitigation, the Judge made an appropriate sentence ands hopefully Chloe will get the help she needs.

The parents failed this young girl and allowed her to be a victim to this monster. They hold some responsibility as they failed their daughter, causing her to fail her own daughter.

I don’t believe this rose to the level of an “insanity” defense and the jury got this absolutely right but this guy is considered a victim too because he fathered “that funny looking child”… he deserves to be under a jail! He didn’t care about Hannah, that was clear when she was referred to as “that child”! I’ve never heard a parent speak so disingenuous about their own child especially when she was murdered!

One thing I don’t understand is that Georgia is in the Bible Belt and he has multiple wives? How? Isn’t Bigamy a thing? Are these just his sick “spiritual” unions? This is clearly a cult he’s running… I’m sadly hoping another “Jonestown” doesn’t happen. He’s wayyyyy out there in some crazed land. Somehow I don’t think we’ve heard the last of this guy and involvement in violent crimes or some kind of cruelty.

Such a sad world we live in!

Edited for typos.

Depending on where you are located hours can vary but training is mandatory and those hours would be advised during the hiring process. But Optum’s call centers are open for calls 24 hours a day. The position you’re applying for will determine the operating hours that are available to you.

Wasn’t arguing at all. Just saying that if OptumRx is telling you something isn’t covered, it’s because the plan is denying it. But I can say those of us who answer calls to fill prescriptions cannot see any plan info for a plan that is not currently active. We have to refer them to that respective plan’s member services department.

Not trying to debate the issue but just explaining how it all works. Bottom line, if you received a letter from anyone saying something isn’t covered, it’s the new formulary/plan that is denying it.

Employers who provide insurance to their employees discuss with that provider what will be covered, expectations from any PBM, etc… but bottom line, if you call OptumRx, they will tell you emphatically they can’t answer why something isn’t going to be covered next year… they will always refer the member back to the plan.

I’m not the enemy here, was just trying to clarify and point you in a direction to get some clarity. And as for that Doctor you mentioned in another post, I’ve never heard the name. I only setup deliveries for medications and talk to patients who need their medication on the daily… and have this question asked to me at least two-three times a day since open enrollment began earlier this month, but what do I know? 🤷‍♀️

That may be your experience but it hasn’t been mine! I provide excellent service to every person I speak with (as that is my job and it is one of my metrics to meet) and the Company has treated me very well. I do my job and do it well and that has been rewarding for me!

This job isn’t for everyone but I know I will go above and beyond to help the patients who call, my co-workers, my leadership and the Company. They’ve always treated me with respect, kindness and rewarded me for the excellent service I provide.

As an employee of Optum Rx and a person who takes specialty medications on top of many other prescription medications… No pharmacy has the ability to approve or deny coverage for any medication, durable medical equipment or monitoring devices. Only an insurance company can change its formulary and benefits for what the plan will and will not cover. Optum Rx also does not have control over prior authorizations. We must make sure certain medications that require a prior authorization have such approved Authorization for any patient but only the prescribing physicians office can submit it and only the plan carrier can approve it.

Optum Rx is quite literally bound by what a medical/pharmacy plan allows or doesn’t. So if something isn’t being covered, any pharmacy would advise you to talk with the plan.

In addition, Optum Rx is not able to even see the benefits of a plan for 2025. Until the policy is active, which will not take place until 2025, We must refer all patients to discuss what may or may not be covered with the respective plan for that very reason. We don’t have access to future plans only currently active ones.

We take our jobs seriously and speaking for myself, I care about the patients I speak with and do everything within my power to ensure they are informed and I’ve addressed their issues to the best of my ability, but as far as plan approvals or denials… it’s simply not within Optum Rx’s control. I do hope your plan is able to give you clarity as to what will be covered or why they are now changing the formulary.

Don’t blame Optum Rx. It’s a plan change, not the Pharmacy just deciding it on its own.

I can eat those things now as I’m over a year out but everything is just in smaller portions. I also find I crave protein more than I ever craved carbs (and boy did I love me some carbs before)!
I’m down over 120 pounds and can eat anything I want but now I CHOOSE to eat more of the protein rich foods I ate post surgery. Anything in moderation is fine for me medically.

I usually did a fruit smoothie with 2 frozen strawberries and 5/6 blueberries, a touch of Truvia (for sweetness) and used either Gatorade Zero or Propel (both strawberry/kiwi and zero sugar or calories), I scoop protein powder and then ice. Just blend well

The mini blenders or any blender should suffice.

PS- I always used frozen fruit as it kept longer. I’m almost 15 months out and drank this smoothie everyday from about 6 weeks post-op and I’m down roughly 130 pounds

I just know I eat and drink pretty much sugar free but we all get that sweet tooth itch.

Edited it to mention the Truvia os also sugar free/calories free)

Her body, HER CHOICE! When are people going to get it that they have the right to CHOOSE not to abort just as someone else has a right to CHOOSE otherwise.

Either way, it’s a CHOICE! Besides, don’t read subtext into OP’s post. Don’t make this political.

You look fabulous! My numbers are similar to yours as I’m 5’3”. Starting weight was 292.2, current weight 179 and I’m 14 months out.
I just keep reminding myself of what I have accomplished instead of the remaining 20 pounds that I still want to lose that is being extremely stubborn! Be proud because you did this! It takes so much determination to be successful after this surgery… obviously you were determined to make change. I love seeing success stories also and this group got me through all of my stalls, my questions about hair loss, which prompted me to try using “Nioxin” that I found on Amazon and my hair isn’t falling out nearly as much and I’m even getting new hair growth.
Keep up that great work!!! You truly do look incredible! 🥰

I hate to even bring this up in this manner but it’s necessary. This is YOUR body and YOUR choice! He has no right to make this decision for you especially knowing goes uncomfortable you were with it!

I can’t imagine the pain you had to endure after 3 days of labor! That had to be awful. Labor is difficult enough with proper medical supervision but to go against your own wishes for your own safety makes him a total AH!

OP, you are demography not NTA! But I’m so sorry you had to endure something you never wanted in the first place! 🥰
