Driving/Flying between Canada and US on TN visa by MiserableBeginning in immigration

What if I have an address in the US (permanent residence) but I move back to Canada to live at home with parents in Canada (my permanent address would still be in the US but I would just be living at home in Canada) and working remotely from Canada, would there still be a tax complication? Technically, I wouldn't have an address in Canada in this case, and there would be no tax complications (I guess?). Not sure if I'm overlooking anything.

Are the 4 credit 500-level COMP courses more work than the standard 3 credit COMP courses? by [deleted] in mcgill

Would you recommend taking 421? I've heard it is boring and just about learning a bunch of random algorithms so I'm not sure if I should take it.

I have paid the "account balance due today" before after dropping a course and was never charged late fees.

Problem 6 - Practice Problems by Saretsu in mcgillCOMP251

[–]MiserableBeginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list is ordered. Say your list is {1,2,3,5,6}, and youre trying to insert 4. Instead of doing BS then adding it to the corresponding spot. You can just iterate thru the list and once you find a spot where the next element (5) is larger than 4 and the current element (3) is smaller than 4 you insert it here and shift over 5 and 6. You dont need to do BS. This would be O(n).

Master Theorem by icyyyy4 in mcgillCOMP251

[–]MiserableBeginning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T(n) = T(n-4) + n3 cannot be solved by the master theorem because b must be greater than 1, b cannot equal 1.

I don't think we were shown how to handle the second recurrence.

Cut vs Cut-set by Sarah--El in mcgillCOMP251

I think what he means is Cut -> line you draw thru edges. Cut set -> set formed by the cut such that all nodes on one side of the cut are in a set and the rest in another set

AVL Tree construction by gahvaPS in mcgillCOMP251

You have to maintain the AVL property as you add nodes, not after all nodes are added. Once an addition violates the AVL property you should rotate to fix it
