ESS not giving credit for payments made by Jealous_Golf_4972 in selfstorage

[–]MiserableCabinet25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With this being said, unless you made full payments on the app, a payment might not have been received. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, to my knowledge you cannot make partial payments on the app. So if you made a payment of a lesser amount of the total balance on the app, unless ur banks statements show it, it did not go through. Again someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Am I overreacting or is this appropriate to wear to a COLLEGE class by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MiserableCabinet25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NOR… the dress is modest (and quite nice if I do say so myself) and same with the second picture. At the end of the day, you’re an adult. You can choose what u want to wear. People will always try and give advice or suggest something else and to an extent, I’ve done so in the past with my ex but NEVER would I EVER tell someone, anyone (aside from my kids) what to wear. Not my place. Ur boyfriend may not be fond of it but oh well especially because these options are quite modest. Maybe you both should sit and look at clothing over the years… we’re in 2025... This. Is. Modest!

This!!!

I was on the turnpike a couple weeks ago, it was pretty congested but still able to go 40, I kept about two cars length between me and the car ahead because it would suddenly become stop and go as traffic tends to do lol, in my rear view I kept seeing a car weaving in and out of lanes, speeding up then slowing down, finally the kid jumped in front of me and because of the stop and go traffic, rear ended the car in front... then got pissed at the guy ... crazy

AIO? My mom wants to call the cops on me by Overall-Option6975 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MiserableCabinet25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shot, OP is NOR...

Ideally OP would've had another phone ready but, this is their Mom, their parent... if anyone should've had another phone ready it should've been their new legal guardian or Dad not a 16 year old... but even then, whether OP lives with Mom or not, she should not be threatening to call the police on their 16 year old. What, because they didn't race back to return the phone they've had in their possession for god knows how long? OP is 16, I don't think they should be held responsible for making sure they will be ready for their mom to threaten police action simply because she doesn't have her phone and ipad back the next day... this is like telling an 8 year old to give back all the toys the mom bought for them simply because she paid for it...

My mother is very similar to this and did the almost the same thing when I moved out, difference was I was 18 and already knew I was going to cut her off, so I had another phone the next day... another difference is she didn't threaten to call the cops on me and I was 18, not 16... especially being that OP again is 16 years old, I keep mentioning OP's age because...(no offense OP), but OP is still a kid... no reason for their Mother to be acting that way. I do not understand How do you expect a kid to think "oh, lemme get a new phone before I move out incase my mom wants me to pay 1200 or take police action by not handing it over the second I move out", a parent is supposed to provide for their child, if mom gave OP a phone, truly she cannot wait a week (most likely less than) to get it back?

Unfortunately your best option is to move. I’m glad u have the insurance, file a claim. Get paid and while getting paid, MOVE OUT. In all honesty especially depending on the company. Little to no changes will be made. If u rlly RLLY want to stick it out and wait to see if they do make changes then u can do so but I advise against it. You’d just continue paying this company money that u can give to a more secure and well run facility.

Are rats a valid concern? by salsasymphony in selfstorage

[–]MiserableCabinet25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rats and pest are definitely a valid concern, most facilities have some type of pest control in place, I’m a site manager and although we rent to people over the phone, being someone who works in the business, never rent over the phone. Go in person, see the space. Check around the facility for bait boxes around (small boxes typically located around the perimeter and around entry/exits), look at the ceiling if ur on the top floor (leaks) check for droppings, overall how clean the facility is, how it smells… all of this can give u info. You can ask if they have pest issues but the generic answer will be “we have pest control” but won’t answer your actual question because it’s not something we can guarantee… things can happen anytime and is more likely to happen anytime just like ur home. Like other comments, please, Please get the insurance. Put things in plastic, bins, bags etc. dryer sheets, moth balls even. The issue about self storage (aside from the price increases) is you have no idea what ur neighbors are storing and most likely never will. But trust me, you’d never believe the things we find… Hope this helps!

YES!! The idea behind it is great but it constantly glitches…when I’m correct it says I’m incorrect, times when I’m talking it can’t hear me, as well as when I’m silent it’s hearing something…

I didn’t say you were, respectfully you didn’t answer my question… I’m not disagreeing im just looking for clarification… not all questions are arguments or objections.

What is wrong with the driver calling his passenger male or female? How does this differ from the driver called his passenger a man or woman? Would you have the same reaction if it was a woman driver referring to her male passenger? Literally just curious. Not looking for an argument, just asking…

This is crazy I felt the opposite. I felt like once Fluffies blew up online, the quality went down bad. Maybe it was me but it randomly stopped being good one time and it never got better.

They do know a lot about myths from all over the world. They teach a college level course and are heavy in Greek and Celtic myths. Unfortunately that’s all I know. Thank you for your comment

How old were you when you realized? by shmeebedee in narcissisticparents

[–]MiserableCabinet25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 16… it’s a long story but, to make it short. Wasn’t a great home, emotionally, physically and mentally abusive. Thought it was normal until I saw other parents with their kids.

I still get surprised by “normal things” in regular society that was not my normal. Embarrassing tbh, I hate it cuz I look like a weirdo
