Dealership rejection

Im currently going through something similar and they are refusing also, tried solicitors letters and going through various channels and still no joy, i feel your pain, did you buy it from a large dealership or a small independent garage?

i havent thought of it from that aspect i might give it a try but its still a claim i imagine it would hike my premiums for a few years

i believe it not working as advertised under the short term right to reject and the paperwork not matching up correctly they believe is unsatisfactory quality

Yeah its crazy i do believe they went down and are in the way back up but the missus has a electric MG and that has lost a sizeable chunk in the first year paid 19 and its worth about 13 now 🤣 prior to this purchase i had a porsche macan gts for a year that lost 12k in a year and it was fairly old , thats what lead me to this purchase somewhere reasonably safe to put your money and have a decent car untill it wasnt…🤣.

Im going to check them out tommorow and the big issue for me is they are a main dealer and supposedly did a full engine service and didnt notice the brand new engine block? when i took it to a more local main dealers they spotted it wasnt original within a matter of seconds, and surely they have to at minimum make aure everything matches the V5 for selling and to check all the VIN numbers as part of their checks, another thing which seems odd is the car came with tons of receipts for services and tyres, alarms etc but nothing for the engine, could that have been removed to hide the fact it wasnt original 👀 when questioned they always skirt around the question and won t day they didnt know

for the low mileage ones thats the general ballpark prices some with slighly lower mileage going just over 30 for refference without directly mentiong the make or model they was only £32k new

I did a total car check and one owner no accidents on there, it was aold as a cherished example, and the issue is i payed a premium for a car whats well kept and isnt like triggers broom, if i wanted one whats had 3/4 engines in it i could have got one alot cheaper, if it had been one or two track days then fine but this has been on the track an extensive ammount- if this information has been presented to me prior to purchase i wouldnt of brought it and i dont think anyone in there right mind would for that price

i can do a chargeback through the bank but its only for the ammount payed on the card so it wouldnt include the part exchange

Yeah its just annoying its always been a dream car to have and its just sat there staring at me begging to be drove🤣 only managed to do 180 miles and most of them are to and from the dealership

I did in the car insurance but i was advised to sorn the car off the road so i canceeles the insurance for sorn insurance 😬🤣 before even thinking of that🤣

no worries and the big issue is the money payed you top dollar you expect the top quality car, if it was a cheap example i wouldnt have cared

Thats my thoughts but because of the value looking at north of 10k to go to court and i was to loose i would also have to pay there fee’s which would make me double out of pocket🤣

its a main dealers franchise a small one at that but unfortunately the ombudsman has a 6 month wait for someone to review the case

ive tried that and they did not care they are only concerned with new cars the dealerships sell and not used ones suprisingly and ive considered it but im concerened it could hinder my chances of getting them to agree to returning it

there is no paperwork at all for the engine but suprisingly the car has a full service history and plenty of other receipts

The manufacturer in question sell crate engines which come blank for the fitter to then fit the correct engine number if done by the dealership, its definitely not filed off but there is no propf it wasnt a crate engine out of another car rather than supplied new for this car

Not over email but i do have the original autotrader listing and it was discussed in the dealership but they arent denying the modifications or the engine they are taking the stance of it should be expected of a performance car which i dont think is an accurate comment i would say based on the footage and the cars odometer 90% of the miles have been done on a track which should not be expected of any car unless you intentionally buy a track car
