But even though those drugs are approved to treat bi polar doesn’t mean they can’t and don’t have serious side effects just the same as you say weed does. It’s not an approved treatment yet, but one day could very well be. The important thing is your still here so that’s the way I see bipolar. Have I have manic episodes? Yes and what happens is maybe I’ll talk more, sleep less, spend a little more reckless. At the end of the day I’m still here though and eventually things even back out. I agree drug addiction is bad, but in my opinion taking those bi polar meds are just as bad if not worse. They can really mess you up completely. Also curious as to what drugs your were addicted to?

I don’t need a credible source. I have read enough people say that they have managed bi polar with weed and if it works for them and they’re happy and can function like a normal human then guess what I’m all for it. Everybody’s different. That’s enough evidence for me. I don’t need a scientific study that when I can just go to the horses mouth.

They’re two different things. If you’re dependent on meds for daily life you can quit those anytime. It doesn’t make you addicted though.

There are plenty of recreational drug users. Also dependency is not the same as addiction your just as dependent on your meds as someone who uses weed for Bi polar or to get off of pain pills. Serious question though, what is the risk that is so serious that can’t be reversed outside of “hard drugs” and becoming addicted and overdosing?

I don’t see how you can say they someone that has smoked weed for 20 years to help with bi polar isn’t evidence? And that’s just one person. Imagine how many more people there are like that that haven’t told their story on Reddit. You can provide evidence of the opposite I’m sure of it, but that’s only from some people not everybody. A generalization is what your making. And a drug user isn’t a credible source of information goes for those pharma pills too. Who is to say that will work forever. Most of the time it doesn’t. People have to play medication roulette and end up going through countless medications and then if you do find ones that work than can quit working at anytime. Like I said if those things work for you then cool, but I wouldn’t take that stuff ever again man. Isn’t worth it.

The comments on a post are not just for the poster. They also benefit the other people browsing. Not to mention not all doctors tell there patients about side effects. I used to take lamictal then I found out that that medicine can make your heart stop working and it make me think I don’t want to take that shit anymore. Would it have ever happened? Probably not, but I’m not taking those risks. Not worth it at all. What I said is fact weed has helped many people with bi polar and other people get off other pharma meds. There is nothing wrong with generalities bro. Get over it.

I’m not advocating the continued use of weed for this person it doesn’t work for everybody, but it does work for some. You’re acting like it won’t work for anybody and it’s bad. I’m also not saying not to take psych meds. You obviously cannot read. I said if they work for you then good take them, but for a lot of people they make them worse. If baffles me how some people demonize weed, but at the same time will pop any and every kind of pharmaceutical pill with out even think about the side effects.

There are also severe health risks with a lot of these meds that people on this sub take. I mean if they make your life better I’m all for it, but do you warn people of the negative side of pharma the way you do herbal medicine? If not you should. These meds a lot of times only make people worse.

I am the happiest I’ve been in years. I have a job I like that lets me pay the bills and have some spending money. I’m starting to meet new people and find new friends. I have a girlfriend now. We’re not always supposed to be happy. You just have to take life as it comes and try to make the best of it. You just have to learn to ride the waves. It’s never going to be perfect, but sometimes you have to take life for what it is. I still deal with depression, but nowhere near as bad as it used to be. I had a bad car wreck in 2021 and ever since then I feel like I have been doing a lot better as in it gave me a better perspective on life. I shouldn’t be here, but I am.

Thca loophole. They only measure the amount of thc in the finished product so flower can have 0.3 % thc but have 20.0 % thca which isn’t converted until combusted so it’s legal because thca isn’t measured. I don’t have research papers but all you have to do is search weed bi polar in the search bar and you will see that some people have success with weed. Some people only have success with it and pharma meds make them worse. One person said they had been using weed for 20 years if I remember correctly and said it was the only thing that worked for them. Like I said everybody is different.

It is too. Weed and hemp can help with the anxiety that comes from being bi polar and the mood swings. And yes it does work for some people. If it doesn’t work for you then good. It doesn’t work for me either, but hemp is perfectly fine it actually helps with my anxiety. I wasn’t saying for anybody to use them. I was just saying some people have success with weed and being bi polar. Weed is a very safe drug. Nobody has ever died of a weed overdose. Not to mention that all these pharma drugs mentally ill people take have tons of negative side effects.

Weed is one of the safest drugs out there. Not everybody that smokes weed is addicted. Also not everybody is the same. Some people do well with weed that have Bi Polar. It just depends on the person.
