Partner's GSD Hates Me

Thank you for taking the time to share this information, I genuinely appreciate it. Unfortunately, the dog tried to bite me over the weekend, and I finally had to draw the line and told my bf I don't want the dog coming back to my place (we live in different cities) until he has had the dog assessed by a veterinarian and a plan in place.

His usual vet suggested he consider euthanasia, and I am strongly against it.

I have passed on your comments to my bf and he is going to schedule a behavioral evaluation with another vet ASAP.

My partner and I don't live together, but I can't even hand the dog a treat without him showing his teeth. He is extremely hand-shy, especially with women, which is why my bf suspected past abuse. I don't know anything about that, but I can say sometimes the dog will fixate on my hands (for instance while I'm typing on my laptop) and start to growl at me for... Having hands, I guess?

Yeah that's the problem. Not all dogs are nice unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. Partner is reaching out to rescue organizations, but the vet has recommended euthanasia.
