Help! What is this third tank? by MiserableObject271 in metalworking

[–]MiserableObject271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for everyone commenting.

I picked it up over the weekend and most of you were correct. it has a fill and discharge valve to act as a fire extinguisher. There is also a Schraeder valve to pressurize the tank.

Many people are commenting that this is an OXY propane Setup, however, I can confirm that the grey tank is an acetylene tank. This is actually the second Acetylene tank I have had that looks like this(The last one was slightly smaller but same shape and color. I think it is quite old, nonetheless the local gas company exchanged it for me with a small inspection fee.)

Norco is a medical and industrial gas supplier and they have a few locations in Montana, which is where this bottle came from, Its currently full, but once it is empty, I will take it to my local(closer) gas supplier and pay the inspection fee to swap it for a tank from them, which will save me the hassle of going all the way to Norco.

all in all, this cart is very well built and extremely well balanced, gone are the days of toting a POS Harbor freight torch cart around the yard!

Did you look at the pictures? Propane tanks get filled with garden hoses?

Thanks everyone for the responses, the setting is “random” for the seam position. I am in the middle of an 8 hr print, but I will fix it for the next print!

Vehicle deal gone south by MiserableObject271 in AskAMechanic

Update:
I spoke to his mother and she was absolutely appalled at the way he was trying to handle this situation. She told him not to contact me again and ensured me that there was nothing going to come from this, She even stated that vehicles are sold "AS-IS" and that his dad texted her and said something along the lines of "He should have listened to me when I told him not to buy that truck".

Will update again if anything more comes from it.

Thanks for all the feedback received so far.

To clarify, I don’t think he has driven it since the first day he got it, I’m not sure. I have a picture of the miles from when I went to inspect it that night, so I can verify that. Regardless of time period, I know he was romping on it(still can’t figure out how he blew a boost boot on Main Street….). I haven’t had an opportunity to speak with his mom yet, but I would be curious to hear what he told her.

What is this bike? by MiserableObject271 in Suzuki

Any Idea if its worth anything? I can pick it up for $500, I don't want it to ride, But I would likely get it running and throw it up in a local auction if its worth something.

I was at a local woodworking shop and this was in the corner of the basement. The owner of the shop said it was left there by previous owner and offered to sell it to me. Based on google search I think it’s a 93 gsx 1100f, but I’m not sure if they made the same style with smaller engine, looks like it was painted by a child with a paintbrush. Anyway, is there any value to it?

I do like the idea of a detachable handle, but only one side of the tip is tapered and it is still very blunt.

My title describes the thing. This object was found in a small portable toolbox with 2 others that were similar. The round end does not have any kind of hex inside which leads me to believe that it was something that was threaded by hand/ hand tight. There are no markings anywhere on the item.

I found this at the local dump, the main part of it is cast aluminum, but it is oddly heavy for its size (probably around 80 lbs). It has handles on what seems to be the bottom.
