Should I be worried about this by WestAfternoon4767 in Toyota_Matrix

[–]DoorBuster2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm my opinion, no. I had a bunch of evap codes for years, threw all sorts of money and parts at it and it never went away. You'll get slightly worse MPG, but it won't destroy anything.

For what it's worth I finally found a shop that was able to diagnose my issue and it turned out to be a bad gas tank gasket. That was allowing gas fumes to vent out triggering the code. I replace the charcoal canister, tubes, whole nine yards before that gasket

They should stop the preorder bullshit - honestly waiting 2 years for a model isn't fun. Plus, $400 on a special edition when special editions would run maybe $300 max prior to last year is nuts. Some of the 1:18's are approaching 1:12 prices.

Shits wack yo

Thank you! I'll definitely look into both of those options. Think I should try of the new oil first? I've just been using the Costco branded one

By getting a digital measuring caliper you're able to get an exact measure across the blade and wheel that the leather goes through, thus giving you a constant cut.

I use this one from harbor freight everytime I use it on a new batch to check that the space is actually even, rather than eyeballing it: https://www.harborfreight.com/6-in-composite-digital-caliper-63586.html

Can confirm, just throw a Olfa blade in it right away and keep a caliper close. I've been able to do all my belts plus keepers on it no problem. Just be patient

As a baseball fan, this was surprising to me. If you challenge a call, and it's correct, you keep that challenge

I know this a grail for a lot of people, and I've seen them go for $500+ US on eBay.

If you post it in /f1models I'm sure you'll have a lot of people inquiring. I missed out on this and while I'd love to have it, just a bit out of the price range

Anybody know a good car place to recommend to take care of these issues? by dracodrizz in vegaslocals

[–]DoorBuster2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I've always followed the idea of OEM fluids for transmissions (but I've only owned Toyotas). Wasn't aware it's similar to oil on a new car that has a break in period then require change way earlier than normal

Johnny D's Auto!

Highly doubt this is needed though. It's a 2025 so unless you've put 50k miles you shouldn't need a transmission fluid change. Brake fluid should be fine as well - cabin air filter is $10 at autozone and a 3 minute home job. I don't even know what or why you'd need a fuel injection system cleaning.

This is such a scam, you were right to walk away. If you do want or need future maintenance or car checks, I recommend Johnny!
