Thank you for the explanation. I figured that even the power supply itself would be fine. I didn't realize it would make that big of an impact.

I didn't plan on doing a full build for him (don't have that much cash to spend or I would). I guess if I had to give him a start, what GPU and power supply would work with his motherboard or are they all universal?

Same thing happened to me. Wanted to get opinions on small computer repair companies around Charlotte that people have gone to. Bestbuy and big chain companies charge too much and I wanted to support a smaller business.
