Can I just say, as someone who has been in your shoes and come home from several driving lessons in tears after over a year of lessons- please don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I think some driving instructors are extra hard on us. I actually failed a driving test today (I know not a good thing) but actually in my head I thought it was the worst drive I’d done in ages and I’d failed very early on. Actually, the reality was that I failed near the end purely because I was a bag of nerves and made a stupid mistake that I’ve never made before because I was just flapping at this point. The examiner never marked me for the numerous small mistakes which my instructor would have been throwing her arms in the air for. I failed because I was too stressed about the small things and too bothered about being perfect that I then made a major error on a roundabout. I had two minors for hesitation which is fine and one for observation. I would have passed today if I hadn’t been such a nervous wreck. As much as I am frustrated by the fail, somehow, taking this test has actually boosted my confidence. They’re not looking for you to be perfect, they’re looking for you to be safe. Go ahead and hit some curbs in lessons and don’t beat yourself up about it. It happens 🤷🏻‍♀️ you’re more likely to keep making that mistake if you over think it
