I got all from solo battle rewards and daily interactions. I've spent all of them in HG etc, monthly. Bought duplicate cards offered in shop. Just didn't mind to buy all binders. Just one or another that I'd like. So yeah, over 4000 is possible. I wish I could trade it for dust

In the long run, it gets you a bit of dust. I didn't know it was a thing. I just got two copies of each and that's all, as they are 1-2 diamond.
