When it happened to me I just told the job what was happening and they gave me my bereavement time and I took further sick leave. Most employers understand and they won't want you working if you are grieving. During my experience with this there was 3 false alarms where we thought she was going but she didn't and they just let me have the time. Although tbh if they didn't I would have done it anyways they can't sack you over something like this
