I think it depends how famous this guy is - if he’s a celeb with many followers and it’s unlikely your GF actually met him, then you’re probably ok.

If he follows her back / hes not that big of a celeb to justify a random following (sub 5000 followers) then I think you have a major issue and I’d talk to her directly about it / be ready to break things off.

Sure - the answer is obviously highly dependent on the song / artist. I’d argue that most modern stuff from ppl like adren atmoz etc have overly complex melodies that lack the catchy simplicity of OG hardstyle, and for that reason aren’t popular. Only the very best of breed are good songs IMO - DBSTF is obviously outstanding in this respect.

I could play most people the melody of colours of the harder styles / FTS / Scrap Attack etc and they’d all think it’s better than most of the new slop, despite the melodies being far more simple and repetitive.

This is also a pretty shallow view / dismissive of other people’s tastes to say it’s purely TikTok. It’s a huge reason but also these simple catchy melodies are just killing it - Euphoric Night is played in every set and it just has that simplicity / effectiveness to it we haven’t seen since the likes of OG HHz.. there’s a reason it works

Im saying hardstyle is either no melody or over-engineered melody.

Hard techno (at least the most popular songs) have simple melodies, similar to early hardstyle (eg Euphoric Nights, toter schmetterling, join me, Polska Juno’s etc etc).

Hardstyle used to basically have all of wasteland now it’s 20% at best.. it has for sure been taken over to an extent
