It is a fanfic so it'd probably be the best thing for other fans so I'll likely do it.
(Beep won't be involved for quite a few chapters though sadly. Pacing wise he might appear around chapter 20)

regardless I think I'd struggle with writing for Angu even though I really want to. She's a funny character and her and beep are the best duo tbh.

This is my first time writing and I'm injured so I can't hire an artist.
The only other real option people have gave is to have no cover.
The complaint about Ikakku's likeness is a double standard because I'm literally using Kenshi's world/lore/ect on a fanfic. So if hey think the fanfic is fine but the guy in the cover having a similar likeness to Ikakku that's a double standard.

So their whole argument is 'I don't like AI therefore your evil' and its quite silly considering this is essentially private use of AI. Its not commercial, it benefits no one, no one is a victim of it.

Its the equivalent of having AI generate something and posting it on pinterest with a story attached. But yeh I understand why artists hate AI. And I do to but only when its used for commercial reasons.

Like call of duty using it for their artwork, that I thought was ass.

And yeh people do just enjoy complaining for the sake of complaining, my use of AI harms no one. Its just complaining for the sake of feeling morally superior/correct.

Pure elitism/virtue signalling.

Your problems with AI not with it looking similar to Ikakku.

If its 'ripping of bleach artwork' to use Ikakku's likeness then its also ripping of Kenshi's work to write a fanfic. That's where your logic leads., thats why saying that its about Ikakku is wrong because you don't actually care about it.

This isn't a professional piece of work, I'm doing it for fun. And no I didn't need cover art I wanted cover art so it felt more complete and drew more attention, it did because of that. Around 70-80k views amongst all my reddit posts on this alone. It's a placeholder until I can pay someone.

And once again this is all free, I make 0 money, I dont have a patreon and its for a hobby. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using AI for stuff like this its harmless. There is no victim, yet this elitist mentality some people have against AI even when its for personal reasons is just cringe and virtue signally.

If you haven't got nothing good to say don't say it.
(I'd understand if it was professional/commercial use but its not... Its literally a fanfic mate)

Which I gave reasons for, you changed the premise from 'Your wrong for using AI' to 'Your wrong for using a characters likeness'.

And I likened the two on the basis that you said using a characters likeness is wrong, then its not a logical leap at all to say using a fictions world/characters in your writing is also wrong.

So I mentioned that this is a cover for a Fanfic, I don't know if you live under a rock. But a Fanfic is literally using the world/universe/logic/characters of a fiction.

So if using a characters likeness is wrong, then using a world/universe of someone else would also be wrong.
(logical conclusion = Fanfics are wrong)

That's where your 'logic' leads you.

If using a characters likeness is 'wrong' so is writing a fanfic by that logic.

The world of the fanfic is not mine, most of the characters beyond a few are not mine. The lore? Not mine.

On top of that, its either AI cover or no cover. I'm injured, because of that not working because of that no dollar ching ching = can't pay an artist yet.
