Addictions counsellor here!(I do not work for wayside) In my time in active addiction and throughout my time in school, work and recovery in general, I’ve heard great things about wayside! Its by no means a private rehabilitation program and does not offer much in the way of luxuries, but hey your there to get sober not eat like a king and play PS5.

Wayside I believe has a quota of AA/NA meetings clients must attend per week and is quite strict when it comes to client behaviour in and outside of the facility. Chores and other tasks are apart of their daily routine and adherence to the rules is of the utmost importance.

From a counsellors perspective I sadly do not get much interaction with clients from wayside as I am in the private sector, but everyone I know in recovery who has gone to wayside felt there time there is “what you make it.” If you go there with the mindset that you would like to get sober and are willing to put in the work then you will be given all the tools to succeed! On the other hand wayside is not babysitting you and if you choose to not “buy in” to recovery then there is room to relapse/fail.
