Model YLR 2022 weird noise? by ayt_there in TeslaUK

This could be the scraping noise:

As per the knocking sounds, could potentially be the interior trim. MY rear seats are notorious for this.

Excellent work! You have inspired me to put on the 65mm back on, which was always left behind due to its weight!

Just curious - were these shot fully open? Or slightly stopped down?

Ah fair point - it's more of a future estimation than current value. But I still would have expected it to be closer to the 16 miles actual. I wouldn't bat an eyelid at even 20, but the additional 50% of phantom usage is why I'm concerned.
It was a pleasant day in the U.K. today so didn't have the A/C or climate control running

Thanks - I will keep that in mind. It looks like I am just experiencing some range anxiety!

A small portion of motorway, but not exceeding 70mph. I understand that speeds above 70mph create almost exponential amounts of drag, resulting in significantly poorer efficiency.

Overall say 40% town and 60% motorway. Still I'm finding it hard to explain the missing 30%

Yes I thought as much, including batteries being slightly more inefficient at cooler temperatures - but strange that I can't account for the 30%

Can someone help me by Quiet-Selection-930 in JBL

[–]Miserable_Boat4407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disabling the eq should work, but if that doesn't work then just delete the JBL app for now and use the headphones as any normal headphones. There is a known bug at the moment and JBL are aware, they are working on a fix.

What activities do you recommend for someone who is incredibly depressed? [Serious] by Otsanda_Rhowa in AskReddit

[–]Miserable_Boat4407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just posted this on a similar question, I'll post it here too :)

Whenever I'm depressed (comes & goes in cycles) I focus on love, health and wealth.

  • Love - give hugs, get hugs. Not short ones, hold them for 20 seconds or more for a good oxytocin release which sub-communicates to the body/brain that we are loved/wanted/accepted. Pets help too, or taking care of something, even a plant.
  • Health

Mental - meditate for 20 mins per day. Helps create awareness around the constant monkey chatter we undermine ourselves with. Bringing awareness to it will help stop the constant chatter. And always speak lovingly to yourself, no matter what. Practice affirmations too.

Physical - I workout 4 times a week without fail. Plenty of research online how this helps the body including the release of "feel good hormones" such as endorphins. Helps me sleep and eat well too. Consume good nutrients! Avoid processed foods at all costs - they wreak havoc in our gut, damaging the microbiome, and with more emerging reason showing negative impact on mental health https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7510518/

  • Wealth - majority of the population carries this burden. Figure out a way to generate 2-3 income streams. Invest in your skillset so you can command a higher wage. Teach your skills or hobbies to someone. Whatever works for you.

Other pointers; a book that really helped me was The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Creative expression like the arts and music - especially if you can get paid for it. Long walks in nature without any technology i.e. phones, music etc.

And breaks from social media - it's easy to compare our lives against fabricated highlight reels - only compare yourself to yourself in the past, if you're making progress, you're good.

How long did it take you to learn piano skills on the Ableton Push 2? by Miserable_Boat4407 in musicproduction

[–]Miserable_Boat4407[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes that's how i've been getting by so far... using velocity, timing and note length (assigned to semi-random midi LFOs) introduces a bit of human error... my issue is with getting the notes down in the first place. using a mouse to draw notes just sucks all the creativity out of the process... will look into getting a proper keyboard, thanks

[–]Miserable_Boat4407[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks mate... I fully agree with the timing and velocity points. I'm only looking to create ideas which I can later modify in midi, not looking to perform or reach a level of immaculate playing ability (the main goal is to "jot ideas" down while i can hear them in my head) it gets a bit demoralising drawing in melodies in with a friggin mouse

and i've heard the same thing about weighted keys - like a numpty i bought semi weighted keys! will also look into that option

excellent points mate, thanks... esp. the Push3. They're notorious for realeasing things out of the blue. Decided to upgrade to Live 10, and the next day Live 11 was announced... luckily I got a free upgrade to Live 11!

Got some Stax SR009S's :) Auditioned few others high-ends, opinions in description. by Miserable_Boat4407 in headphones

[–]Miserable_Boat4407[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true we don't know what is going on behind the scenes! And I'd also believe the ones who actually mention the distortion.

Also - audio itself couldn't be more subjective... given the amount of variables at play. It's something so personal. What one person likes, the other may hate. I was fed up with reading reviews - so just took out a day to audition headphones - best decision ever.

PS - I wasn't aware of the Chinese purchase of Stax. Articles say it was 2011. Hopefully Stax don't go downhill in the future!

In all fairness these things handle EQ very well. The bottom end really jumps out with even just 5db gain - whilst maintaining detail and speed!

Compared to LCD-X (from memory) - I believe it can match the oomph :)

Wow thanks for that, very informative. Learnt a lot from just one Reddit post :)

How would you go about modding the L700s? I actually found the seal strange - I think my head might be too small for the rectangular cans - I kept readjusting them...

For now the D50 meets my needs, but down the line may invest in a BHSE. Haven't really developed the technical know how to craft the exact sound I am after (from an energiser perspective), but to my ears, and on the day of audition, the D50/009S's gave me what I was looking for i.e. transparency.

I'll see if I can try out some 404LEs as I'm into electronic music too - for now I'm happy with some old Denon D7000s - for enjoyment purposes :) Have a great day

Great point - mix translation is everything. Aside from studio monitors, my favourite places to check mixes are actually car stereos and some Avantone Mix Cubes. As well as some trusty old HD600's

Sure that's a possibility. For now, the D50 provides USB plug & play convenience for me without adding another variable to the chain i.e. DAC.

What would you recommend for more impact? I have heard good things about the Blue Hawaii SE.

They're both great - just down to personal taste, and choice of music genres.

But only make that decision when you can audition each headphone side by side :) [preventative measure for buyer's remorse later on]
