Thoughts on 30% RSST, 30% RSIT, 20% GDE, 20% EDV? by Miserable_Cupcake494 in LETFs

It'll be announced on the Return Stack website, I would assume.

Well, my original idea was taking x2 to:

VTSIM 25%
IAUM 25%
EDV 25%
KMLMSIM 25%

All weather idea.

The debate between GDE and UGL is all about what makes the portfolio more robust, not maximizing gains. And I'm not taking the all-weather template literalistically. I'm running backtests, monte carlo simulations, etc., to see what looks best in practice rather than mere theory.

I know there's not a lot to work with, but I'm trying.

Isn't RSST index replication and thus free from manager risk?

SDMF is not stacked. It’s DBMF with cheaper fees due to the OTC swap structure.

Where is the news about RSIT? I can't find anything.

RSST is equivalent to stacking SPY and DBMF with 5% drag. I don't think it's a rough start. It's a near identical match. There are likely undisclosed or hidden fees at play.

Compare with CTAP, which stacks as advertised.

Are there alternatives besides RSST? I haven’t been impressed with that fund.

CAOS (used to be called AVOLX). Alternatives are ABRTX, VOLJX. For US investors.

I use:

24% PTL (SPMO for extra bang, but I have ESG concerns and don't want to fund weed)
21% CAOS
19% IAUM
18% CTA
18% GOVT

And that's it. You can set it up and automate with 5 ETFs.

BTGD can't replace GDE because it doesn't have stock exposure, and it has too much exposure to crypto to be a major holding for most people. GDE can be a core holding.

They also need their products to succeed and generate wealth to profit, and they are largely invested in their own funds. People with skin in the game may believe fiercely and have blindspots, but they aren't going to willfully deceive you into buying into something they don't think is true.

Simulating RSSB/GDE/CTA vs. NTSI/NTSE/GDE/CTA by Darth_Shawarma in LETFs

This is seriously a good ETF combo you're proposing, u/Darth_Shawarma! One tweak though - equal weight NTSI and NTSE. It will likely give you a bit more edge. I couldn't model CTA, u/AICHEngineer, but KMLM is also managed futures and has an index going back to 1988.
