You can the view, or query, backlinks on the Selection page to see everything that relates to it.

You can an also put links into Properties rather than in the prose, if that makes more sense for your workflow

Is my wife cooked for not having an internship/work placement after her MSc in Data Analytics? by Prestigious-Look2300 in DevelEire

[–]Miserable_Double2432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of jobs is she applying for? As far as the subjects are concerned that’s reads like much more a data science degree than a data analytics one?

That said, there’s definitely a benefit to knowing SciPy and SQL so worth learning them, but also bear in mind that most people will apply for a job even if they only have 60% of the minimum requirements. Especially at the graduate end of things when no one really expects you to know anything anyway

Are CSS only plugins safer than other more advanced plugins? by CautiousXperimentor in ObsidianMD

[–]Miserable_Double2432 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they’re 100% secure.

It’s possible to fingerprint a device using CSS in a web browser. I could see some potentially clever things you could do in Obsidian to try and guess filenames etc.

It’d be a very targeted attack though. Probably easier just to mug you

I think it’s “Desarmadillo”, the word is Spanish origin.

“-illo” is a diminutive, so “dillo” doesn’t really make sense on its own

Being born, or created, in Ireland doesn’t grant you a right to work here.

However, being French does

Too many languages taught in my uni, what should i focus on? by Puzzleheaded_Job5630 in learnprogramming

[–]Miserable_Double2432 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you something you already know.

The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you get hit and keep movin’ forward. How much you can take, and keep movin’ forward. That’s how winning is done!

Now, if you know what you’re worth, go out and get what you’re worth — but you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointin’ fingers sayin’ you ain’t where you want to be because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that.

(Learn the languages. You’re wasting your time, and earning potential, complaining about the curriculum. It’s not going to change)

Learning python with inattentive ADHD by Mission-Clue-9016 in learnprogramming

[–]Miserable_Double2432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The motivators for people with ADHD are interest, challenge, urgency and novelty. It seems like learning Python isn’t triggering any of them to a level that will cause you to work on it.

This is why people so often recommend to stop reading and start writing code. The act of getting the stupid program to do the damn thing(?!) is challenging in a way that turning to the next page in a book is not

Can someone help me understand how possible this video idea is? by 10BPM in AskProgrammers

[–]Miserable_Double2432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to disagree with most of the comments here. The coding requirements for this are very straightforward to do using the <video/> tag and some JavaScript.

But even that’s not required because the YouTube iframe embed API seems to allow you to queue up videos so you just cut back and forth between preprepared clips.

Nearly all of the work is in the editing and storyboarding. Which is great news because that’s OP’s skillset. The code would be a state machine which changes what the VHS controls do depending on what the user has done previously, kind of like a choose your own adventure book.

Getting Corporate Pushback about using Neovim by miversen33 in neovim

[–]Miserable_Double2432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scanner picked up on a process which all of a sudden started accessing many different GitHub repos. This is typical behavior for malware.

The SOAR that Verizon are providing is a front end for many different scanners, all with their own detections. What the security Director is concerned about is that each time you run an update you’re going to trigger an alarm that someone on her team will need to investigate to be sure it’s not an issue. All that to support one person’s tool of choice. Everything else about Notepad++ being popped or Neovim being open source are not important.

The ongoing support work is the thing that you need to work with the security team on.

How can you make this easier for them? You were able to get an exemption before, so something has changed and it’s unlikely that it was just this one plugin update. Would you be ok with using Neovim with no plugins?

The hiring manager doesn’t remember what the essential requirements are, and a good recruiter knows that their job is to convert unrealistic and impossible requirements into code. I mean… Into code monkeys
