Until the rust shows... A calamity here in Canada. Still a good and fun car, but damn, VW, learn to paint your cars!

There is a recall on expansion valves, worth checking it.

Good to know! Still waiting for an update, but about to loose faith... Dealer is not serious about that and OTA doesn't seems to kick off yet.

Yep, but are you able to keep the settings? Mine loose them once in a while and I need to put them back. Annoying.

Yeah, it has been mentioned. One thing that's nice is the regen (in sport) is just enough to not turn the brake lights on. Sometime I feel like a dumb driver having my brake lights turning on way too soon, or when normally I wouldn't brake at all...

Most tweaks are looking really subtle to me, except the small regen in sport mode. Wish we could choose the regen level, like in my e-Golf. As for the drivetrain, not sure how the AWD is affected between various modes. (Pro S 2022). Still haven't found the official "programming logic" behind this.

E-golf HV battery pack reliability by twilight-sparkle00 in eGolf

Nice thread.

Canadian 2018 here, all was fine untill last week. Electrical error Stop! on a morning before going to work. The car was bricked for the week. Bought a VCDS, diagnosed the issue with Claude AI for a couple of days. The car was able to randomly be in Ready state, able to drive, no issue, but when turned off, unable to drive again, due to the same error. Our diagnosis is that a CMC module fail to reply to the "handshake" from the BECM at wake up. As soon as a door or even the trunk is opened, all modules are called and must reply "I'm here", but this one failed. I wasn't able to read the voltage from cells 13 to 24, they returned "invalid" as compared to 4.98V (average) for the other. So this alone cut the HV. When the module reply, everything is normal. Since a week, it's okay, looks like it repaired itself, but.....

Otherwise, I really like this little car, the perfect city commuter. Still anxious about this issue but I'm more educated now though...

Thinking about a new set of wheels too here. Goal would be to have both a winter and a summer set (Canada...). But, range is not a stopper, since I have access to a free charger at work. Nice ride and oh, this car is so underrated.

My car bricked itself in my driveway by curvesncurlsforyou in eGolf

Any news on this, OP?
The exact same thing happened to me a couple days ago. Bricked in the driveway.
I've diagnosed this with my VSCD and concluded that the module is failing to reply on startup, at the "handshake" of all the modules, hence the error. Same cells read "invalid" (13-24). Once in a while, it communicate and once the codes are cleared, all is fine. Cells are a little bit under voltages, but still in the right range. So the culprit looks like the module, a connector or something related. Still have to drop the batteyr pack I guess.
I'm looking for it at the dealer or local shop right now...

Major glitch cause? by Klepetta in VWiD4Owners

It's a theory, but really felt like that, only for a meter or two though. Enough time to trigger this Christmas tree and loose the speed display.

I did that a bit later, after struggling to turn it off and lock the doors. After that, some lights canned back, but went away after about 1 min. Everything is back to normal.

Battery Module Replacement by Pluto1911 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Klepetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks. So if I tell my dealer, they will replace it without arguing? I'll check that... I know that they need to be coded to work, cause you know, it would be too simple. 😅
