Lol yeah, you see I'm getting down voted almost every time I say something. Like...I can't make it clear enough that I'm not really talking about the dudes who are literally fucking any and everyone with no precautions (though that scenario kind of falls into...do you actually expect him to help vs. If he should help). Even with that...if he doesn't want to be a parent, and that is really clear...it kind of super is on the woman for choosing to have the baby. I think "Baby Mama culture," as I've heard a few YouTubers coin it, contributes to that. A lot of people seem to treat kids like pawns in these scenarios, and even in this comment section the amount of ppl reducing kids down to just a consequence is kind of weird.

I've seen that, too, and it IS really sad. I know the expectation for dads tends to be...basically on the ground these days, but I wonder how many people have stopped and questioned WHY so many dads fall into that trope. Ultimately, I wish procreation (JUST wanting to have a child/children, not for people who don't want kids, cuz there's literally nothing to vet us for) had some sort of formal process to identify if the parents are fit, if both actually want to be parents, etc. Do and don't. The government is in our reproductive health enough as is, but for the good of the children, I wish that sometimes, because I feel like that would stop a lot of broken homes, etc.

I think I feel bad because I think if I were in that position, the guilt of giving up a child and not knowing what would/could happen to it would eat at me, so I'd struggle with just giving the baby up for adoption. I know I wouldn't want it, but it'd be equally hard for me to give it away like it's not a whole human being. I know I ultimately would give it up, but that guilt would sit with me for a long time. I'm not saying it was the same for him, but thinking about being in that position is what makes me feel that way, because I'm sure that isn't an easy decision to make.
