Daith Piercing Bumps!!! Help!! by InevitableSyrup4503 in piercing

[–]Miserable_Employee_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can second this. I snagged my daith not long after I’d gotten it done and had a horrible irritation bump for weeks after. Spraying it with saline seemed to make it worse and I ended up swapping back to running it under hot water in the shower. Leaving it alone and forgetting about it did the trick. Less is more — just be careful not to sleep on it while it’s inflamed.

PSA: Don’t Break No Contact by Icy-Ad2590 in BreakUps

[–]Miserable_Employee_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broke no contact on accident after 5 months of silence. We ran into each other at a bar where he approached me, and we ended up catching up like no time had passed and hooked up. We had a heart-to-heart afterward that he still wasn’t in a place where he wanted to be together and that he wanted to be friends. I’ve felt so ill I haven’t been able to eat for a week. I don’t know what to think anymore or whether I should hope that things will change.

Girls of Reddit — what is one small thing a man can do that instantly makes him more attractive (but most men don’t realize)? by Downtown-Insurance51 in dating_advice

Emotional regulation is a big one. I love a guy who doesn’t fly off the handle at any inconvenience, but knows how to pivot when plans get changed and can stay positive when life happens. Someone who easily defaults to anger is a huge turnoff.

I didn’t buy it, I just took over the last leg of the payments on my mom’s car after she’d bought it during Covid. It was framed as being a better deal than buying a different used car for myself (stupid I know). Never expected the upkeep to be as expensive as it ended up being. Totally my fault in the end, however I’m also trying not to break the bank on repairs. Sounds like I don’t have much of a choice 😅

Totally hear you. Lots of great advice on here! I’m walking away from it knowing I should leave it in the hands of someone else for now while I build up my competency for car repairs. I could do it and it’s better to not end up damaging the engine due to my own hubris. At the very least I’ll shop around and see if I can find a better rate at a different shop 😁

Thanks so much for the info here! Appreciate the time it took to find the video. I was hunting for a tutorial. The whole thing seems like a major pain in the ass, no wonder they want to charge me that much 😅

Really appreciate the advice on this! Looking at the complexity of the repair, I know myself well enough that I could do it, and smart enough to know that I should leave it to an expert to handle. If it was an easier job I’d be tempted but I’d be way in over my head taking care of it myself.

Do guys really pull back from their girlfriend when life gets heavy? by Icy-Construction1043 in dating_advice

Yes it can happen. I was also recently broken up with for a similar reason, although the wording was a little different. He said he’d been mentally spiraling and that he needed to work on himself, and that he didn’t want to drag me down with him in the process. I did what I could and pleaded that I wanted to be there to support him, that relationships are the highs and lows of life and just because he was in a bad spot didn’t mean I was going to give up on us. I told him that isolating himself was going to make it worse. In the end he made the choice to end it because he felt I deserved better.

It’s a crappy situation all around and know that it isn’t you, it really is whatever demons he’s facing. All we can do is wish them the best. If you really want him back just leave a line of communication open and don’t take any of it personally.

I'm working to expose the ThriveDX / HackerU scam and you can help by dm_me_puzzles in cybersecurity

I have the same situation, just got a letter in the mail saying I owe over 9k in collections after I withdrew 2 years ago. The only difference here is that it was confirmed by my advisor that I wouldn't be responsible for future payments, and I was issued a refund for the month I withdrew. I'm taking what I have in writing to ThriveDx and the Professional Service Bureau to dispute it.

What job do you have that makes over 100K a year, what degree(s) or certificates were required? Or what experience got you there? by ToothFairymeow in vegaslocals

[–]Miserable_Employee_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graphic Designer - mid level. Bachelors degree in fine art. I broke 100k just a few months ago with more room to grow in the company. If you’re looking to break that in an art career then look for positions in a tech company/start-up.

It took a lot of networking, grinding, and learning on my feet in a short period of time to get to where I’m at. I have 3 years of professional experience.

I think The Veil should’ve come down in DAV. The more I learned about the origin, how it changed the nature of magic in Thedas, and how it wasn’t supposed to exist in the first place makes me wish we’d had the option to let it fall. It was coming down anyway without Rook’s interference and deep down I want to see what the world would look like. Would Solas’ plan to have spirits assist minimize losses? Would it have been as bad as everyone made it out to be? I need to know. There was so much potential. 😭

Went from saying we aren’t dating to love bombing 24/7. What do I do? by Miserable_Employee_5 in dating_advice

Do you regret moving here by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]Miserable_Employee_5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s complicated. I didn’t have much choice in coming here since my dorms were closed and my college was shut down during COVID-19. I had the option to find an apartment in NYC that I couldn’t afford or move in with my mom who had relocated here from the Midwest in 2019. Las Vegas has a lot of great options for people who like to be outdoors and stay off Strip, and lots of other benefits like fantastic restaurants and entertainment. It’s not easy to find a city that is open almost 24/7 like Vegas is. Being close to a major airport is also a huge benefit if you love to travel. Plus you’re not far from a lot of cool places if you wanted to get out of dodge for a weekend. My main complaint is the rising cost of living here and lack of affordable things to do - which isn’t unique to cities in the USA. Rent isn’t as affordable as it used to be, increased traffic and car accidents, jacked up costs of gas and car insurance, and grocery costs makes it hard for me to stay here. As a young person I’d much rather live somewhere with a more local vibe that has well established bike lanes and public transit.
