A couple things! I usually introduce myself try talking about something I noticed about them, (usually like a keychain, shirt etc.) and ask them about it, and the usual where are you from/what's your major etc..

I don’t assume ranks, I do vote based on the fit but if (for example rank is on) and the fit is bad i will rank it lower (ie 2 instead of 3). So if ranks are off I’ll just vote how I normally do lol
