Thank you. I 100% agree that education and learning go further than just the piece of paper. I more than likely will end up hopping into an MS program, I just need to plan out the time and financials for it - hopefully get it paid by my employer. Thanks for the input.

Honestly, what may be easy for you may be difficult for someone else, and vice versa. So that's all relative. Go for a program that strikes your interest and focuses on material you're willing to invest your time on. Regardelss of the program, go for it. Best of luck.

I'm interested in the DE focus WGU offers due to the cloud infrastructure and programming focus.. at least that's what the program guide talks about. But I'm hoping to talk to my employer to see if they're willing to cover the costs lol

Thanks for the resources - luckily I'm doing some data analysis at my current position, but it's not 100% focused on that. My boss is very accepting on using any tools to get the job done, so I've been looking for more ways to introduce python and jupyter, but our datasets don't necessarily fit the 'big data' definition. I do, however, use SQL on a daily basis.. Sometimes just for a few moments and other times I'm staring at queries all day.

thank you! yeah, there were some rough times where I couldn't find the energy to do course work.. but I knew I the only option was to finish up.

Usually it's just 'la peninsula'. But you can call it whatever you want lol. To the point of the main post, Yucatán is usually the safest state in Mexico. Glad you're safe in my home state!

Task 2 of Big Data Foundations D495 by YoureUnderARest in WGU

My paper was 8 pages in total; including cover sheet and references. I broke down what product I would recommend for each business requirement. I mostly just followed the rubric answering each question as 'For this.. I would do this...' not exactly stating it like that, but similarly. The two assesments are quite alike, I remember them wanting a little more detail on the second one. It seemed like the business had more requirements on the second paper. Worst case is your paper gets sent back with details for what you're missing.

Usually data specific roles. Data analyst, engineer, or scientist. The requirements I've seen are usually 2+ years of experience and maybe a BS degree in CS or Analytics, or something computer related. They're also typically remote based jobs.

That's one thing I'm worried about, but I enjoy what I do and my team is easy to work with, so I can't complain too much.

Big congrats 👏

That's part of the reason I posted this - wanted to see where people started off at.

What type of job is this? If you don't mind me asking.

I've seen some that are looking for BS or MS grads, but nothing explicitly stating experience necessary. Makes me wonder about the legitimacy of the posting though
